I've been wanting this game since its release, but have been reluctant to purchase at full price due to the negative reviews. So, now on sale at 90% off, I picked up the game and a couple of DLCs. Here are my thoughts so far: Pros: Fantastic game in theory. I love the detail involved in the many things you have to do, step by step. Large open world map to fish in! Graphics and model details are 7/10 at best, imo. Cons: My biggest complaint by far- three crashes just trying to complete the tutorial. If you've spent much time on real boats, you realize the sounds of the water on the hull while underway are not very realistic. The boats in the game don't realistically respond to throttle/wheel input. The sea surface itself could use more realistic details to help with immersion. Overall so far: For 90%, there is no reason not to buy if its something you may potentially enjoy. But don't set your expectations too high lol. I recommend only if purchased at a significant discount.

Fun game. Good tutorial system walks you through it. I do like how species will migrate so you dont fish the same spot over and over again. Boat handling takes a bit to learn in regard to how to pull up on pots. I enjoy lobsta fishing and long line fishing the most. I'm still early game but I would recommend.

I have very mixed feelings about this, i love it because is so different from other fishing games, it is fun to get on the habitats and catch half of your cargo space in one single longline. But it is also luck, sometimes i drop the gear on top of the target as the sonar show, sometimes i make a bad drop according to it and for some reason the results are the contrary of what they should have been. F5 is your best friend, there is a bug after teleport or fast travel spawn that make your boat fly and start getting damage until ofc you "sink" while in the sky, lost my first 8h of gameplay because of that. Now the developer are completely absent and this bugs are well known, take a look at the discussions page and you will find out, they left to rot both FNA and FBS to push out a new game in early access, when asked about changes made in FNA regarding the waves, the developer responded that chat gpt sayd it was better so they made the change, ill leave up to you what to think. All that aside if you find the game at a cheap price i would give it a shot, for the relax it can generate and cool views it provide, oh and do not go hard mode, it is kinda useless and all you get is just unmatching prices on the fish once you dock, it does irritate me every time i check fish price on the finance tab. Remember F5!

I took Rudy Smith, fresh out of Lockerport School for Students with Special Needs, and somehow made him the North Atlantic's top crane and dredge operator. The fishing is so mind-numbingly slow that I started having deep conversations about life with my NPC crew members. Now we're all emotionally entangled, and I think I have found a virtual best friend in this guy. Rudy can even manage two dredge cranes at once during scallop operations—an impressive feat for a lad who once struggled to operate a spoon! 10/10, will never finish the 'catch 5,000 swordfish' achievement, but turning a fishing game into a full-on relationship simulator is more worthwhile than paying a psychologist.
