I ran into a bug where I couldn’t open the back side of the encyclopedia, so I had to rely on the random option. Because of that, it took me 100 hours to complete the game. It’s not a bad idle game, but it has way too many bugs.

I love this game! Highly recommend to anyone who wants a unique desktop companion/decoration and likes games with similar themes to Dredge and Bloodborne. The aquarium free DLC is amazing! Gameplay: Simple; this game doesn't ask much of the player. I love the sounds that indicate user input is needed. Upgrades make sense and are paced well, I found the rate at which I was filling up the encyclopedia was proportional to the upgrades and achievements. I never had to grind for any particular fish either, the rarity seems very balanced. Graphics: Lovely style of pixel art that implies more detail than often exists. It is pleasant to look at and suits the gameplay and deep-sea aesthetic well. Wish there was a borderless windowed option to better display the aquarium and for it to mesh more with other desktop elements. Controls: Easy to understand and satisfying. However, I don't know if spam-clicking a fish sometimes makes it more likely to be caught or if I am just very lucky. UI: Very well designed, there is no clutter and if you forget how to bring up any of the menus, the mouse cursor will change when a menu can be accessed which is a very nice quality of life feature. Music: Smooth Lo-fi beats to catch monsters to. I don't like this kind of music, but for anyone that does, the music box provides a cool player with loop and shuffle features. There is separate settings for all the game audio, so you can also just mute the music but still have and adjust the rest of the sound effects which I appreciate.

Very good idle thing. I see many say it was very short, but I managed 17 hours out of this thing by simply not going deeper before catching all the fish in the range. So, pretty value for the cost. Music is great, you love to see the sound option customization range, only thing I dislike is the tendency for something to do a flying(swimming?)-leap, "get down mr president" and sacrifice itself on my hook when I'm spam clicking a rare. And generally the lack of ability to reel up or down after reaching your destination— I found it faster to quit the app then restart than reel up trash to move my hook up/down towards the end.

The only bad part about this game is that eventually you'll get every achievement there is and there will no longer be a reason to open it, still pretty good tho.

A fun little idler/clicker 'game'. This was a crazy roller coaster experience, but one I enjoyed throughout. DEFINITELY get this on sale- although, it is reasonably priced to consider buying at full priced too. You can 'influence' the fish to be caught by clicking on them, frantically. Or you can just watch the action unfold by passively watching. There are certain depths which you can catch certain rare creatures, and it is definetly worth setting the 'flag' to stop your line at certain depths. The more ACTIVE you choose to be, the more rewarding the experience, IMO. There are levels of subtle interaction at play within the 'game', and they can be experience optimally with an 'explorer' point of view. Give it a shot, I felt the time I spent was more than worth it. YMMV.
