Flowers 3 - automne is pretty amazing. It builds on the story presented in 1 and 2 with much higher emotional stakes and the best protagonist in the series. It manages to be both amusing with Yuzuriha's antics and apperances from other characters while holding onto some serious drama and relationship issues. If you've read 1 and 2 you should definitely read this. Hell, if you're interested in a well written yuri story this one arguably is good enough to read through 1 and 2 just to read 3. I do not think this title could be read on its own though without missing a lot of things present. It could be serviceable and probably still a good story without the information from 1 and 2, but there are so many callbacks that would be missed some of the story would mean less. However, if you don't want to read through 1 and 2 I still think this one is worth a read even on its own, since Yuzuriha's story is fairly well contained on its own, but there will be quite a bit from Suoh's overarching story that will just be extraneous at that point. Past all that, the music - as always - is amazing, probably my favorite OST from the Flowers series. Niji no Mahou and forked road (especially forked road) hit very hard. Kawashima Rino does an amazing job as Yuzuriha, being both serious and teasing. The only negatives I can really mention here is that the pacing is uneven, which just seems to be an issue with the Flowers series in general, as well as the stories outside of the true route are a bit disappointing. If you've come this far, read this one, seriously. Best Flowers (unless hiver really surprises me).
