I loooooved this game. When I was a kid, I had these "play through the storybook" video games from popular children's book series like Arthur and Sheila Rae the Brave. For me, this game was a sweet echo of those times, very nostalgic, easy to play, silly but still interesting puzzles. I love the cozy, handdrawn, surreal feel of this game and recommend it highly to those who feel drawn to this. Enjoy :)

AVOID | LACKING | MAYBE | WORTHWHILE | COMPELLING | UNMISSABLE Follow the Meaning is a point & click puzzle game with a sort of Rusty Lake series feel to it all. In this game, you play as Paul, a detective who is investigating a nearby town and hospital given some going-ons. The game is pretty straight-forward - for those who have played any of the Rusty Lake games, Follow the Meaning is much more straight-forward and linear than those, though it still has that surrealist unease that I associate with the Rusty Lake series. The art is nice, the story is interesting ( a parable about gaming devs/development, perhaps? ), and it was a relaxing way to spend about an hour and a half. If you're looking for something action packed or a game featuring difficult puzzles, this isn't it. But if you like point and click games that marry surrealist narratives and art with puzzles, then this is a good pick.

Follow the meaning is a calm and clever little puzzle game. I really liked how it made me slow down and think. The minimal style works well, and the wordplay feels smart. Some puzzles confused me at first, but solving them was satisfying. It’s not super flashy, but it has its charm.

Briefly. Mysteriously. In the spirit of a rusty lake. The developers decided to show the world their creation, into which love, work and a piece of soul were invested. And they hit the mark. The game turned out to be awesome, with a bunch of interesting puzzles, plot twists and cute kittens😻. Plot. After waking up in the middle of an incomprehensible island, our hero Detective decides to investigate all its secrets, and there are many of them. People with three eyes, strange signs everywhere and a huge psychiatric hospital with evil doctors are clearly not a good sign. Gameplay. A HUGE advantage here is the movement. There is no animation of the hero's movement. He instantly teleports around the location, this saves a lot of time and makes the game very enjoyable. Also, the puzzles are really interesting. We will need to change the time of day, climb on roofs, and even dive under water. And along the way, do not forget to help collect cats for grandma:3 Visuals. The drawing is very beautiful. Each character, each location and elements on it are hand-drawn, in a very colorful style. And the soundtrack.... I give the game 10/10 for it separately. Perfectly selected melodies help to create the right emotional mood. Final. Overall, I am incredibly happy that not only Rusty Lake makes high-quality and exciting games in the point and click genre. I strongly recommend everyone to go through this interesting puzzle and understand what exactly the meaning should be followed;) If you read the review and liked it, don't forget to give it a thumbsup;) The further - The better♥️

Really the only complaint I have is wanting more. I would love if this could have been a 10 hour game for $30. The puzzles are fun and simple enough to where I doubt many would need hints, and as you can see, the game is gorgeous. I'll be recommending this to people for a long while. A definite sleeper here in Steam.
