Rusty Lake Paradise is such a weird and enjoyable puzzle game. The atmosphere is creepy, mysterious, and strangely beautiful, and the puzzles are challenging without feeling completely impossible. I really liked how each plague changes the environment and keeps things feeling fresh. The art style and sound design fit the bizarre story perfectly, and there are plenty of little details and secrets to discover. If you enjoy point-and-click adventures, creepy mysteries, and puzzles that make you stop and think, this is definitely worth playing. Plus, if you like yourself some culty, Wicker Man vibes, then this game is for you!
I really enjoy puzzle games where you have to think outside the box AND there's quite a few puzzles to solve before you can finish the chapter. The Rusty Lake series/Cube Escape is definitely interesting and the ideas behind how to solve some of the puzzles had me stumped at times. If you like indie styled games and puzzles then this game is a good choice. I had initially played Cube Escape: Paradox because it was free and it was so enjoyable that I bought the whole game (Part 2 was premium and I felt like I was left on a cliff hanger if I couldn't finish the whole game lol). There's a whole story/lore behind the game which is where the Rusty Lake series (Hotel, Paradise, Roots, The White Door) all connect. The bundle I got also included The Past Within and Underground Blossom along with the Cube Escape so it was a win/win.
Another fantastic addition to the Rusty Lake universe. I had a great time playing through this one. The puzzles were creative and satisfying to solve, and the eerie atmosphere perfectly complemented the game's unique setting. As with the rest of the series, the story added more depth to the overarching mystery, making it even more rewarding for longtime fans. A memorable and captivating experience from start to finish.
