The game has little progression; you are handed fast cars and race them for thousands of dollars. You were born "the chosen one;" you never had to earn it. I keep coming back to mod cars, but never felt I had earned anything. I wish that was different.

Cons: Every single bit of dialog is the most annoying nonsense you've every heard. Don't bother playing online, it's infested with rammers, cheaters, and mic-spammers. Pros: Driving makes the depresso go bye bye.

Hm, yeah, solid entry in the Horizon series like usual. As per usual, good map, good physics, good graphics, runs well, nothing too broken, more than enough content, ... - I think you know these games by now. The downside of it is just that it gets generic real fast. There is nothing special compared to the previous games, there is rarely something special between races itself and the open world activities are also always the same. They also kept the stupid story missions from Horizon 4 which I hated. Combined with providing a lot of hours worth of content, it becomes draining to complete everything. I can't say I'm excited to start playing, neither am I excited for the next game in the series (however I'm probably still going to play it at some point). They need to switch something up; the "make money and followers (rep)" strategy is just so old by now. You also get pretty high-end cars real fast, so making money to grind to better cars is also a useless/missing motivation, making races even more repetitive. Ugh. So yeah, it's definitely a good game, albeit being repetitive. If it's your first time you'll probably enjoy it a lot, if you have played the previous games probably not so much. Definitely only buy it on sale, take your time and don't dedicate yourself to 100% completing it. It by the way also runs beautifully on Linux, which surprised me a little since this is a Microsoft game after all.
