Super fun short game! All achievements only takes around 7 hours, but save for one final grindy achievement it's a fun journey. Definitely recommend picking it up! While I wait for the in-game clock to move forward so I can continue selling gems for the final achievement, I want to list out a few QoL improvements in hopes that the dev will see it. Minor spoilers below: 1. When selling, it's no fun having to scroll all the way down to alexandrite, then back up to amethyst, and then back down again to alexandrite when you have hundreds of gems. This also eats a lot at the limited time you have. I think selling gems should be reworked. Instead of a massive scrolling inventory, all your gems should be stacked into piles that are visible on the screen together. This way, you can build a muscle memory of where each gem type is located and very quickly sell what you want. 2. When refining, the auto-refiner should either be moved much closer to the gem inventory (so you don't have to drag across the whole screen back and forth for each gem), or just let you right click to auto-refine 3. There's a small but annoying delay after excavating a gem before you're able to actually collect it. Not sure what this is for but would love to see it removed 4. After pretty much finishing the game and just waiting on selling more gems, perhaps there could be a button to auto-skip to the selling gems portion? Waiting ~5 minutes after all upgrades isn't fun. Also consider shortening the final achievement from 1000 to 500 gems? I finished my playthrough at around 600 and now just waiting everyday to mindlessly sell whatever is at the top, dragging it back and forth. 5. Seems like the final artifact set is too rare. I wasn't able to complete it until about 4 or so days after already completing the game (all upgrades + debt paid), while only going to bottom elevator and skipping any spot that didn't have an artifact. By the time I completed it, the buff wasn't even useful, since money didn't matter. Overall these are very minor things. Love the game, had a great time, thank you!

Mine, refine and sell gemstones while you try to pay off the massive debt your dear ole Grandmole racked up before she conveniently went on vacation and left you in charge of her Gemporium. The Gameplay & Tips You start off with a tutorial that shows you the ropes of mining, refining and selling. The movement (using WASD) feels really good. The game is very relaxing if you play in cozy mode such as I did. Here are some tips below (for cozy mode). 🔹 Do your shop last, once that is done it is night. Mine first, refine then shop. Then upgrades & sleep. 🔹 When refining aim to hit the red part in the bar to not crack the gem your working on. 🔹 When mining and full go back to your shop, dump your gems and go back into the mines to farm everything you can (eventually you can buy an upgrade to have mining carts on each level to bring your gems up to your stash for you so you can keep mining). 🔹 To mine gems without cracking them. When you hit the area a gemstone is in and you hear what sounds like an egg cracking it is time to pull out your drill and finish digging around the gemstone. Chances of it breaking are less if you switch at that sound. 🔹 The bag you carry is limited and can be upgraded, however the chest you deposit your gems into to refine is limitless (or appears to be so, I have harvested a of lot of gemstones and never had a inventory issue in my refinery chest). 🔹 As you complete each artifact collection it grants you permanent buffs. Settings & Extras Settings & extras include; audio controls, cursor size, twitch integration features, screen mode, resolution and accessibility options. There is also a “cozy mode” which disables the day/night timer allowing you to play at your own pace. It is not balanced but makes for a more chill experience. If you wish to put your game into windowed mode, put -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080 (or a resolution of your choice) under properties in the games Steam library page under launch options and relaunch the game. Overall Experience I played on cozy mode and found it very relaxing, you get into the routine of mining for a while, then refining and polishing for a while, then selling and sleeping. The grind can be a bit much for the upper upgrades as they are pretty pricey. So it is a game to grind and go back to for some mindless fun. I do find the loan shark to show up too often (it should be only once a week). However the game does state if you're playing in cozy mode it is not balanced. I cannot comment on the regular mode with the timer. I know many people hate timers in games, and I am one of them, so I appreciate the cozy mode even if the grind can get a bit much. 💎 [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/32732116-IndieGems/] Follow IndieGems for more reviews like this one. I've never played a game where I've immediately locked in like Gemporium. It asks the bold question "Can cozy games be stressful?" and I never got an answer because I was too busy paying of Grandmole's 1 million dollar debt. Every few days the loan sharks need to be repaid and time is always ticking and never on your side. But the time sensitivity and the increasing loan repayment goals kept me engaged with the game. Every in game day I had to decide how much time I was going to spend in the mines and how much time I was willing to sacrifice keeping my store open. During the evenings I was free from the clock but had to strategize how to use funds. There were several times I had to weigh the pros and the cons for buying (or saving) for certain upgrades versus paying off my loan repayment early (and getting the bonus associated with it). There is a casual setting that extends the time between loan repayments but frankly fighting against the clock was one of the most fun and satisfying parts of this game. I only have 2 minor complaints about this game: 1. The game doesn't tell you that the collectables help you in your game. This may be by design to "surprise" the player but until I completed my first collection and got the perks I just assumed they were time sinks for completionists. A little text hint that the collectables "might" be useful for the store would help first time players in the early game. 2. If a player completely repays their latest payment early, they shouldn't have to pay an additional amount on debt collector days. I would often repay my latest instalment early and then the game would still require me to hand over a few extra thousand on the due date (Example: I repay the full amount of 90k early but the game still automatically requires I have 15k in my inventory for a "minimal payment" on debt collector days). I know all of the funds go towards the overall debt repayment but it restricted how much I could spend on upgrades in every 3 day cycle. Being freed from that minimal payment would feel more rewarding for players that complete these goals early. Overall, loved the game. It took me roughly 5 hours to complete the main game and I spent an extra 2 hours getting all of the collectables and upgrades. I wish there was some kind of post-game only because I am ravenous for more.

You know that feeling you get in Stardew valley where you've minmaxed every second of your time and you make it into bed at 2 am just before fainting? How the more days in a row you play this way, the deeper and more persistent that feeling is in your body? That's the constant state you live in while you play this game. It's wild.
