I came looking for a chill co-op fishing game to relax with a friend. What I got was a terrifying race against time, hauling in absurd amounts of fish while getting jumpscared and nearly having a heart attack every five minutes. Incredible concept of relaxation turned into sheer panic in the best way possible.

This game is so bad it loops back around to being amazing. Imagine a world full of identical fat old men that’s it, that’s the whole vibe. It’s weird, it makes zero sense, but somehow it’s ridiculously fun. No bugs, just pure chaos. Play multiplayer trust me, once your friends join in, it’s all downhill in the best possible way. You won’t get it until you try it. 10/10 old men, would recommend.

Cooking multiple fish, respawn change and converting small fish to bait is all I ask. This may be the best fishing game. Cozy enough for cowards, spooky enough for horror fans.

Game is great, the atmosphere is amazing, the only negative thing is the price being a little bit too high for how unpolished it is, but if you can get the things fixed overtime it will be amazing (Edited my review, after last 2 patches the game is great and they fixed multiple bugs that were annoying)

I have multiple hours in the demo and from what I can tell the early access is a similar experience. There are quite a few minor bugs and the visuals are clunky, that being said what makes this game different from the other dime a dozen crappy EA games (and something I think a lot of the negative reviews are missing) is the solid core gameplay and the developer support. The main gameplay loop consists of a pretty standard fishing minigame, exploring the map, and balancing upgrade purchases with your fishing quota to avoid getting killed by the monster. These three aspects balance really well with each other since they are all tied to the same system. You explore to find better fishing spots, you get higher quality fish from those spots, and you buy more upgrades with the extra money. Even in the demo with very limited content, this loop was able to keep me going far past the point where I had experienced everything. Add on top of that the horror elements and I think there is a very strong gameplay foundation. It is also missing some QOL stuff and the UI is ugly as hell but those dont really affect my enjoyment of the game. I would also like some quota balances based on the number of players so solo play is more viable. The second and more important aspect that is required for a successful early access game is how active the devs are, and that is not a problem here. Report a bug and chances are it will be fixed within the day, during the demo I reported an issue with the rods not working correctly and it was fixed in like an hour. They are constantly checking discord and working on the game which I think is a good sign for future development. Overall if you are looking for a super polished game I'd probably hold off until the final release but otherwise I'd definitely recommend it despite its flaws.
