I wanted to call it a "WW2 themed Total War game with a huge chunk of autism thrown into the pot" at first. But that just wouldn't do this game justice. In fact, calling it a game feels belittling. This is straight up a battle simulator for dudes that hate video games, with a heavy focus on logistics, comms and all the other brainy stuff that I know nothing about. Don't expect the instant gratification or even any sort of fun in the first 5hrs at least. Not unless you skim through a 84 page manual first and watch a couple tutorials on YT. I did just that, but its still all pretty much just a gamble with me clicking everything I see in the UI till my tanks finally start shooting at least at something, let alone the priority targets. BUT. When they actually DO, and once you start feeling like you got the hang of it, that's when the real magic of this game reveals itself. - Seeing your carefully guided units (you don't want your tanks to throw tracks in a sand dune or flip over, believe me) actually listen to your commands and pick off the enemy tanks with some turbo simulated ballistics - that account for wind and temperature and a bunch of other autistic stuff - feels satisfying as hell, and makes you wanna keep learning this thing till you can do other cool things in it, like calling an off-map artillery support or using combined arms tactics (which for now feels like rocket science to me, ngl). There is a fair amount of micro in the game in some cases, but for the most part it's all about the units doing stuff for you while following your grand battle plan. You can often just sit back and watch the show, which despite the graphics being a bit stanky in places, is still pretty cinematic and fun thanks to the high level of detail and realistic physics - even the soil sinks under the moving tanks. That makes it feel like everything has weight in this game and fires some special (if you kno what i mean) neurons in your brain the way those other WW2 RTS (or RTS in general) just can't. Besides the tactical 3d RTS battles, you also got a bigger Operation map where you move your battalions around and deal with the logistical aspect of the game with supplies, fuel and so on, assign units to platoons and other stuff idk, it's still all complicated and brainy and shi, boss. However this is going to be the huge portion of your campaign and will determine how your battles gonna end up looking, hence my initial comparison with TW games. Well and also I just lined up my tanks and arty and microed the heck out of them like Im playing Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai with line infantry. Got his 16 Shermans destroyed, 100men got, while loosing only 1 Pnz III and 6 men in total. Definitely a holy ratio on my first ever campaign battle in the game and felt rather good (after like 7 restarts). Worth every minute of the tutorial limbo. Good game. I recommend to get one from the series on a super high discount to get your toes dipped first, and see how it goes for you. I'm personally already sold on the whole series, and waiting for that sale. Cheers.

My favourite aspect is the game's incredible attention to detail and topographical accuracy. Graviteam meticulously reconstructs over 100 square kilometres of real historical battlefields using wartime aerial photographs, Allied and Axis topographical maps, and modern satellite data. The result is astonishing. You can open Google Maps and compare locations 1:1 to their real-world counterparts, noticing what has changed - and what hasn't - over the decades.

Has less content than Mius Front but just as good and engaging, very rewarding to those who are patient enough to learn how the game works.

Amazing depth , design , and quality of content. Over 500 hours worth of content to be played if not more. If you are a new player I would only worry about the default movement wheel and having fun. You can turn up and down settings to suit your needs. Mius Front allows for natural emerging gameplay , combat , and beautiful landscapes. If you are this far I would suggest buying the game and playing through some of the shorter campaigns.

Graviteam games are different. The mechanics are detailed and specific; it's not your regular hop into a battle. You must plan how the battle will go or not go; your reserves; the conditions of your troops; and logistics, including the terrain, field of vision, and cover. The troops don't always listen to you; the game recreates a battle. Defeating the enemy does not guarantee a win; there are conditions for what counts as a victory, not just destroying the opponent. Once you put hours into it and learn the game, it is by no means easy to start, you will understand why this game offers something no other games do.
