Interesting platformer, it's fun. Corny story and voice acting but about what you would expect for a "shonen" hot-blooded plotline. The animations are made with love. In terms of its value as an action game, maybe I've been spoilt by crisp responsive games like Monster Hunter, Street Fighter etc. enough that I'm not the best fan of animation delays. The aiming and movement are cursor-dependent and that takes some getting used to. But I think people will enjoy this game if they regard this as a puzzle to solve and not like an Action RPG where you just want to kill lots of enemies without being stopped. That said, the Survival Mode that unlocks after Story Mode is even more fun than the story mode in my opinion, it scratches that SD Gundam mech development and customization itch by letting you play around with all of the other mass-produced mechs featured in the story, and some of the later unlocks are hilariously broken. Only downside is that there might be some bugs that prevent progress and you have to end your run early. In terms of story mode gameplay, Hardcore Mecha with its delayed animations, hit flinches, and potential for the level design to chain-stun you through a combination of environment hazards and enemy mecha attack pushbacks means that the emphasis is on careful positioning at range. You're not that rewarded for using melee unless you've singled out an enemy from a pack, and if you receive hitstun it's common to get caught by enemies across the screen for a brutal punish. So use the block button judiciously, and dash through enemies as needed to avoid getting cornered.

A fun modern arcade sidescrolling twin-stick shooter. It has great level design that evolves over time and fantastic feeling controls. While the campaign's story does an admirable job recreating the feel of mech anime. Every major trope is done here in a loving homage. There's also a multiplayer mode but the servers are dead. Overall, well worth the asking price and a fun time

Entertaining and fun with a fun play-style. The gameplay is fun and rewarding for some missions that are primarily fought in your mech and with a small amount taking part when you are disembarked on foot. Highly recommend to play either with sound or while you watch shows, it is super fun and played best with a game controller check it out !

If you enjoy side scrolling action games, and particularly if you enjoy(ed): - Front Mission: Gun Hazard - Target: Earth - Assault Suits Leynos 1 and 2 - Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator - Metal Warriors - Armored Hunter: Gunhound - Battle Armor Divison - Mechblaze - Gigantic Army - Steel Strider You will love this game. Great learning curve and the action feels just right, particularly on Steam Deck which can run this game with most of its power settings dialed way down.

The biggest problem with this game by far is the feeling of being deprived of the ability to re-experience the game after the first play-through. Is the story perfect? No. But it isn't trying to tell a story, it's trying to deliver incredible gameplay with some really cool mech designs, a killer soundtrack, and some cool characters with some very strange names.
