A fun modern arcade sidescrolling twin-stick shooter. It has great level design that evolves over time and fantastic feeling controls. While the campaign's story does an admirable job recreating the feel of mech anime. Every major trope is done here in a loving homage. There's also a multiplayer mode but the servers are dead. Overall, well worth the asking price and a fun time

If you enjoy side scrolling action games, and particularly if you enjoy(ed): - Front Mission: Gun Hazard - Target: Earth - Assault Suits Leynos 1 and 2 - Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator - Metal Warriors - Armored Hunter: Gunhound - Battle Armor Divison - Mechblaze - Gigantic Army - Steel Strider You will love this game. Great learning curve and the action feels just right, particularly on Steam Deck which can run this game with most of its power settings dialed way down.

Cool game. Felt like I was watching a mecha anime at times. There's surprisingly a lot of attention to detail. Controls were a little difficult and annoying but overall I had fun playing this game.

The biggest problem with this game by far is the feeling of being deprived of the ability to re-experience the game after the first play-through. Is the story perfect? No. But it isn't trying to tell a story, it's trying to deliver incredible gameplay with some really cool mech designs, a killer soundtrack, and some cool characters with some very strange names.

This game has great presentation and some really good mecha designs. I've never thought I'd have fun with SD mecha but this proved me wrong. The story isn't anything new but it's a fun-enough romp, and the levels are very well designed. The only thing that hampered the experience for me was the controls; using a gamepad is not a great experience because of how movement and aiming work. It's not unplayable, just definitely a point of friction. Also, I'd recommend against getting any of the DLCs; they're all only for multiplayer so you're not gonna get to actually use them when playing alone.
