I found the game nice. I really loved the idea of interacting with erasing memories, and then having that switch at the end where we were able to write them instead. I also liked how the story felt personalized because of the choices we were given regarding what would be written. The story had a good balance of ups and downs, which kept it interesting without feeling overwhelming. Overall, it was a fun, simple game I enjoyed. It was one of those games where you can just sit back and go along for the ride rather than having to constantly think hard or feel stressed about what to do next.
This game is just beautiful. And as a trans person a devestating but hopeful story for anybody that feels different and lost. Made me bawl my eyes outand get all emotional and just, play this game if you are trans or want a story about downfall and rising back up to try again with the bonds of those around you. Accompinied by a striking and distinct soundtrack/artstyle.
I went into this completely blind and was surprised by how powerful it was. Pretty much all of my friends have similar paths to those in this game. Though some of their stories haven't had as low of lows and some haven't had a happy resolution to their struggles, I am happy to say that they are all still here and on a good trajectory in life. This game helped me to remember how lucky I am to have them in my life and gave me a moment to cherish the memories, both good and bad. It does have one dumb achievement. Erase in the diary for 30 minutes? Luckily you can just open a diary chapter and set something on top of your space bar and walk away for 30 minutes. Then just finish the chapter and get the achievement. This doesn't take away from the game at all, it's just my only real gripe about this otherwise fantastic game.
After just completing this story, I am... At a loss for words as to how beautiful and moving it was. Especially near the end, it got quite hard to keep going through my absolute sobbing. I think I needed that. I think something in me healed through this experience. I'm a trans girl in Ireland, and this resonated so personally with me that it feels like it touched my soul. If you are trans, please, please do yourself a favour and experience this story. If you're not trans or even LGBT at all, I still think this experience would be a very illuminating one for you, I think it would help you see yourself in us that are in the LGBT community, and see that really, we aren't different from you, we all bleed the same, and we all cry the same. And If you're Irish? My recommendation to play this game multiplies ten-fold. I haven't cried like that in a good while.
If found is a nice and short story that showcases several queer experiences across a group of friends trying to navigate the 1st years of adulthood. The main mechanic is mostly interacting with a journal by reading it and erasing/writing several entries. The combination of an excellent OST for such a small game, hypnotizing visuals and relatable storytelling makes this game a really immersive and touching experience.
