Too many reviews saying this is like breath of the wild. ...It is not. Its cartoony Assassins creed odyssey without the animus and ship. Half of the animations and combat is from that game. Kassandras voice actress Melissanthi Mahut. Plays a prominent character The bad -Some enemies take way too many hits to kill -Lack of enemy variety. - A new God dlc was boring because it mostly toke place in one setting. The good + No weapon deterioration +The good voice acting and characters like Zeus keep the story engaging. +The High replay-ability thanks to new game plus, and ok character customization is fun too. Unlike Breath of the wild were you are stuck as mute link. You can decide male or female with voice. +fast input. You push Q to block at the last half second and your character blocks. No sluggish movement like RDR2, and AC Unity. +Memorable. Its been 5 months since I originally completed the main story and I can still quote a lot of the dialogue. +Played with a rtx 3080 maxed out settings 4k. It's like Control. You gonna have some high frames but then some dips down to 50fps. The meh ......The puzzles aren't as annoying as people say. I believe I counted 20 mandatory puzzles. The rest is optional for loot and upgrades. A good example would be how everyone complaining about the Oblivion gates from Elder Scrolls IV. There is only a 3 you have to complete but people moan about 57 optional ones. Some will make you think but my silly self completed the game without using a guide. I don't believe "smart" people would have to.... ...... I also found it odd that some top reviews complained about micro transactions but then go joyfully play Farcry 5 and other games that...has micro transactions????? Weird. Worse.... you see them in other forums defending denuvo. Something that actually hurts game play. Ubisoft games have had micro transactions for almost 10 years now. I could understand if this game didn't have difficulty modes. Find something legit to complain about like their trash launcher. This was the last game that Ubisoft put heart into. Valhalla, and Mirage had glaring issues. (I haven't played assassins creed shadows) Anyway Saying this game is like Breath of the wild is like comparing sekiro to dark souls or Saints row 4 to GTAV. No wonder why the sequel was cancelled. Bad sells, and marketing because a lot of people fell for the nonsense that I almost did. No one wants to play a walmart version of something. This review came from a person that has played every mainline zelda and assassins creed game up to 2018, and didn't like Breath of the wild. I bought the Gold edition in December for 14.99 usd. It's worth the money. Summer steam sale is in 20 days.

Ubisoft presents: "God of the Wild - Breath of War". Now then: Yes, Ubisoft is trash. Yes, their launcher is garbage. Yes, their online services are horrible. Yes, they use Denuvo, which is very annoying. Yes, the fact that they came crawling back to Steam is pathetic. Yes, practices where single-player games bombard you with pop-ups about store pages is scummy. But that's just Ubisoft. As for the game itself, it's overall a fun and funny examination of Greek mythology which interestingly enough had the courage of exploring the more uglier aspects of its gods and focuses a lot on their flaws and defects. Oh yeah, and all of this is done via an old-school Iron Age family therapy-type thing, which I very much enjoyed. 8/10 - Who said we can't have "Breath of the Wild" at home?

Finally 100% steam achievements after 345.6 hrs of playtime. Ubisoft deserves a thumbs up for adding steam achievements. For players who want to 100% this game, you have to get the gold edition. I got it for a steep discount at 90% off and I think it's worth the price paid for what it offers. The base game is an open world with secrets and many puzzles to solve, While majority of the puzzles are quite straight forward and requires some thinking to solve, there are a couple that can be quite frustrating to solve and might require a video guide. These puzzles on the world map are optional and you can totally skip them if you want to. You are rewarded for completing each puzzle. But there are puzzles which are compulsory in the main story. So if you are someone who dislikes puzzle solving, this game might not be for you. The combat feels a little similar to AC Odyssey. You can easily get 100hrs of playtime if you thoroughly explore the world map, do all sidequests, solve all puzzles and collect 999 of each potion resources(just like me). There are also additional daily & weekly challenges from the Hall of Gods and Ubisoft Connect(weekly only) to help with resource gain to power up your hero. There are 4 + 1 Challenges from Ubisoft connect, 4 of which are solo challenges and the remaining 1 is a community challenge. The community is still active till this day. Hence the challenge always completes and you get free resources by participating. You can also earn in-game currency Elektrum to buy cosmetics or resources. There is also a newgame+ which carries over everything, with enemies scaling to your hero's strength, thus making the game harder than the 1st playthrough. My reviews for the 3 DLCs might not be accurate as my last completed time was in early 2024: For DLC "A New God": I recommend only starting this DLC after completing the base game as the story is a continuation. Like the base game, this DLC mainly focuses on doing puzzles. These puzzles are compulsory and required to progress the story. The DLC is only a small map and not open world. There are secrets to find too. Each God has about 5 trials(or puzzles) for you to solve. Most of the hardest puzzles are in this DLC. This DLC might make you pull your hair, throw your controller or smash your keyboard. You will also likely be surprise with some of the puzzles and have a good laugh when you approach it(only towards the end). If i remember correctly, you are able to load your save file from your main game but I think only cosmetics are only loaded. Your main hero stats starts afresh and you have to gain them as you play. And this is the only DLC I have played so far that the hero can do a quad jump. For DLC "Myths of the Eastern God" This is just a reskin of the base game and has nothing to do with the main story, so you can probably start this anytime. It is open world and the map is smaller than the base game. There are some puzzle types which is new and not in the base game. Everything else plays the same as the base game. Characters/Enemies you see here look similar with different names. This DLC has it's own story in Chinese mythology. Treat this DLC as a smaller game on its own compared to Fenyx Rising. If you are an achievement hunter, you need to take note of the achievement "Lighter Than Air" . Even if you miss it, there is another method to achieve this. For DLC "The Lost Gods" This is somewhat a continuation after "A New God" DLC. I feel that it doesn't make much of a difference whether you start this DLC before or after "A New God" though I will still recommend starting this DLC after completing "A New God". The DLC introduces more Gods that did not appear in the base game. You start the game as a servant with the same fighting style as Fenyx and her main role is to unite all the Gods. It has a fresh take, instead of the usual 3D open world, this DLC offers an isometric view with a map on the bottom right of the screen. The map cannot be shown in full. In my view, this only lengthens the play time and it can be annoying as you cannot view far. The skills "upgrade" also differs from the base game, you find different elemental essences that grant different power ups when equipped to each ability. This is a good idea and you can customise your hero stats or abilities with it. One little downside to this DLC is that whenever you save the game, you have to use a consumable. Luckily, this consumable can be farmed infinitely so it shouldn't post much of an issue. Lastly, I think that either Ubisoft Connect should be removed or updated such that there is no "searching for new updates" every time a game is launched. Because I have not seen any new updates from Immortal Fenyx Rising since I first started playing this game and I have to wait about 15-30 seconds at the main menu each time the game is launched. There are also occasional crashes when completing the weekly challenges. Otherwise the game runs smooth, is decent and fun to play.

Clash of the Titans meets Titan Quest meets Cartoons meets Adult films meets God of War meets Devil May Cry... pretty much sums up the game. Visual - simple but very nice and very romantic atmosphere throughout whole game, made a lot of screenshots, really nice art design, eyecandy. Story - solid, despite the known Greek mythology it was about the family and really impactful in some way - shows real world problems in fairy tale adaptation, sometimes I was touched as themes as betrayal, rejection, depression, hopelessness, low self-esteem, no success etc occured. Really recommend the game for adult audience, game is not really suitable for kids despite the visual. Dialogues - between Prometheus and Zeus its interesting how they comment every action in the game, so it feels like narration is alive whole time, you dont have the feeling of being only watching main hero to progress but those characters too. But... whole game is insanely thirsty, its like writer/s were horny whole the time, other way I cant explain why this game has so much of double-meaning texts which I am not fan of, in my past life I was like that, but now its not that funny anymore, because they bring serious topics around it and I am not fan of adultery and betrayal of your spouse, its not funny and never should be taken lightly as it destroys too many lives. Gameplay - great gameplay, its fun to upgrade every time your char with powers, new tricks, never gets old, because if you do all side missions and collectibles you get better and more interesting equipment, there was always reward and game feels rewarding in terms of combat and combination of your suit/weapons, where you can be really overpowered as I was in the last 1/4 of the game, where I was really too strong and even boss fights were like 30 seconds to 1 minute speedrun shots. World - living world with enemies and animals, its all hostile but still you have sense of life and uncover something interesting. This game has really good approach as it offers variety of puzzles, mostly special tombs which are from beginning quite simple and bit of repetitive but after time they get more interesting and harder, but still nothing you cant beat after few tries. Platforming is solid, you can run, jump, climb with endurance meter and use horse/unicorn etc animals for quicker travel. Upgrades - it has some RPG elements, but its Action Adventure game in core, so yes you upgrade sword, axe, bow, armor, helmet and potions, but you dont have to be necessarily over the top to beat the game, yet, I wanted to be as strong as possible but still theres a plenty of room because I returned to game after more than month and didnt want to play it more, so I just quickly finished the game. Music - fine, sometimes good, sometimes not so special, moody. Replayability? - I would say yes, it has really catchy combat, fights are the best in the game and to me it never got old, as you upgrade over time fights are even more entertaining. Rating: Its game on its own from Ubisoft, Its epic action-adventure with really visually stunning world, would recommend if you are fan of greek mythology or epic adventure with fast paced hacknslash combat. TL;DR - Epic Action-Adventure with powers and upgrades where you kill monsters from greek mythology, got OP later, enemies got rekted.
