I should've reviewed this game a long time ago I actually finished Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on 31 December 2025, but I was just too lazy to sit down and write a review Every time I thought, I'll do it tomorrow, n that tomorrow somehow turned into a few months Was it worth coming back to? Absolutely Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the kind of game that sticks with you even after you've finished it Months later, I still remember the characters, the boss fights, the music, and even some of the stupid mini-games that refused to let me move on with the story (That's usually a good sign) Rebirth is the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, and somehow it manages to be bigger than Remake in almost every way The world is much larger, there are more places to explore, more side quests, more mini-games, and somehow even more things to get distracted by You start the game thinking you'll continue the main story, and two hours later you're playing Queen's Blood like your life depends on it The story picks up right where Remake ended and keeps things interesting from start to finish There are emotional moments, funny moments, and enough surprises to keep both new players and old fans guessing It does slow down in a few places, but when the story gets going, it's hard to put your controller down The characters are easily the best part of the game They feel like real friends instead of people waiting for their turn to speak The small conversations while exploring are just as enjoyable as the big story scenes Cloud is still awkward in the funniest way possible, Barrett gets one of the best story arcs in the game, Tifa and Yuffie are great, and Red XIII finally gets much more time to shine Aerith is still a lovely character, but compared to the original game, her emotional moments don't hit quite as hard because everyone else gets so much development The combat is easily one of the strongest parts of Rebirth It's fast, smooth, and every character feels different to play The new Synergy abilities make battles even better, and boss fights are exciting without feeling unfair Every fight feels like you're actually learning something The open world is another surprise Some people called it another boring checklist map, but I didn't feel that way Every region has its own style, different ways to explore, and plenty of side content that actually feels worth doing Most side quests help build the world or the characters instead of wasting your time That said, Gongaga almost made me lose my mind The place looks beautiful, but finding the right path is harder than finding my motivation to write this review I spent more time trying to figure out where to go than actually getting there Then there are the mini-games There are so many that it almost feels like Square Enix challenged itself to put every game genre into one game The funny part is that most of them are actually good Queen's Blood is easily one of the best side activities, but some mini-games are forced into the main story, especially in Costa del Sol, and they slow the pacing down when you just want to know what happens next The game also looks amazing Every area has its own personality, the soundtrack is fantastic from beginning to end, and it's clear that a lot of care went into making this world feel alive Final Fantasy VII Rebirth isn't perfect This is one of those games that reminds you why big single-player JRPGs are still special It has an excellent cast, one of the best combat systems in the genre, a beautiful world, and more content than most games could ever dream of Even if my review is a little late this game was worth talking about Rating: 9.5/10 -0.5 for Gongaga

Good game, god awful optimization, probably the laziest port I ever played on PC Make sure you install FFVIIHook and tweak around with settings, I made my performance around 150% better this way

This isn’t a “play it once and move on” game. It’s a commitment. If you like story-heavy games, sick combat, and getting emotionally attached to fictional characters when you should be doing homework, Rebirth is 100% worth it.

Its a good game but Jeezus!!! The mini games, forced or otherwise are just too much! It interferes with the pacing to be having a deep moment one second then having to play 45 minute of queens blood or some random thing to progress the story. And everyone talks way too much. Why does rando npc have more dialogue than the main party? I've lost interest in this game over and over after long bouts of mini game after mini game. I'm honestly just playing it to complete the story at this point. When it comes to the main story, I'm so happy with the direction its going but my god the padding is a slog. Be patient I guess. The good parts are in there.
