This game was buy-to-play when I first purchased it. Switching to free-to-play at this point was definitely the correct decision, given selling a mid-tier MMORPG with a lack of significant market reach is almost certainly going to lead to failure. This game reminds me somewhat of Trove, except Trove done in a way that focuses more on survival elements and clear character builds instead of the childish, focus on gear with minimal real options in Trove. The tutorial makes it easy to understand the game's various mechanics and features. The graphics are fairly standard for a voxel-inspired title. It looks better than many of the titles of this graphical style though. There's a significant amount of world exploration, items to craft, and quests to do, even if many quests are of the tired "do x, repeat y times to get award" variety. Definitely worth checking out as a free to play title.
I've been playing this on and off for the past 3 years and have got to 150 hours. I do really enjoy the game but everything is really daunting because of the grind. The game is very grindy, by its very design - don't expect to build a massive house in your first couple hours. I've spend the past 150 hours just trying to clear out a plot of land with a shovel... That being said, this is very fun. The playerbase are nice and those who speak English (as this is a mostly South Korean community) are super friendly and have helped me - from random people joining my home instance and giving me tools/bombs to help me clear out the dirt. Absolutely would recommend. The price is really good as you get the game itself and a ton of coins for the in-game store (but you can buy or earn more).
This game is very fun, although it is full of children so don't expect many adults in the global server. The english translations on most things are not great either, hopefully this can be fixed soon as it makes game play very difficult and sort of nonsensical. I have made many friends and some are teaching me tagalong so i can participate in the world chat which is very nice! This also makes me wish there were different world chats for different languages so you can play with people you can also talk to at the same time.
Okay, where to begin on this nightmare of a game... Does it have beautiful graphics? Yes! Is it easy to understand? Yes! Did I just spend 10 hours of my day playing? Yes! Are the people with the squiggly language nice and friendly? Yes! Did I accidentally kill all my rabbits by starving them to death? Yes! Did I eat their delicious corpses after I BBQ'd them? Yes! My only real complaint is that I couldn't test drive the piece of garbage magic carpet before I bought it. 90% of the time the damn thing kills me when I run into the trees or ground... There needs to be a refund button or a test button to see if you like it. There are so many things that could be done with this engine down the road to make some of the most awesome player vs. player on the planet. Not 'bed wars' crap but real meaningful persistent world player vs player wars between kingdoms. Imagine forming a guild to build a keep that can be attacked and destroyed by other players to loot your vault for materials. Player made siege engines firing blocks at walls, player made guard towers firing player made arrows at the enemies. Meanwhile, a small group of players is working to dig under the base to infiltrate the keep to weaken the defenses. It would be a mix of RUST, DAOC, Minecraft, and Tetris all at once. Keep up the good work! Game is pretty awesome!
This is Early Access game, do not expect to much content in this game and here's why I'm recommend this or If you don't like it, please use refund feature. It's simple as that. The Good - Perks/leveling system, you can level up your perks by doing crafting, chop some tree, walking and many things to do - Befriend with animals and you can name it, but you can't take it to your house - The ecosystem very good in this game, and always Mr. Bear is the first time extinct. - The characters of this game is cowaii (I mean cute) - You can climb on the tree, wall or something vertical and maybe horizontal too - The community is very nice people but they mostly speak Korean, Chinese, and sometimes English - Party system, so you can party with your friends without being lost somewhere inside tunnel or forest - Land ownership (new feature). As long you use it, others people can't steal your house, hit your house with axe, or something like that - Night and day cycle with weather cycle, but right now it's only rain storm - PvP and PvE using different world/server which is good - I believe you can host your own world and only invited people can join, such as your friend - The devs always update and willing to answer players on the forum - Good optimization, but only few graphic option of choice such as fullscreen-windowed, and resolution - Tutorial just like objective/quest in this game, it flow within gameplay (I hope to see more objective in future patch) - You can riding the animals - The music is good The Bad and The Ugly - Only 3 animals available right now: Mr.Bear, piggy, bunny (I didn't see wolf for now or maybe they extinct?) - There's no hunger system but be able to hunt bunny? (maybe later update?) - The controls not so bad, there are 2 controls: Minecraft style or click style just like Terraria and Starbound but sometimes I'm always fall down from my house and died - The combat mode uggggghhhhh so bad, need some rework - The world feels empty without birds, its lifeless without it. This game needs - Farming system - Hunger, thristy, and wet when rain (Like Hypothermia?) - Swimming - Fishing (I think the dev update it later) - More monster lurking around inside tunnel or world - NPC - Workshop - Maybe add snow area? Update: Finally you can swim, fishing and more animal to come Do not see negative reviews, they are not true. This game is good and have potential I choose this game over Creativerse, Terraria, and Starbound (Sorry no offense). I hope Morenori Soft didnt dissapoint us. Sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language still learning.
