This is THE turn-based strategy game. Map management, inventory management, personnel management - I don't know how they made this fun, but they certainly did. All sorts of fun 1990s nostalgia, and rock-solid design.

I regret paying for this piece of garbage. It's a re-imagining of the game mechanics of JA2 in the worst possible way. The AI is absurd. You will waste as much time looking for combat as you're in it. This AI model includes cowardice. Enemy models that withdraw, causing you, the player to invest way more time than you want to. JA2 didn't have super graphics, but it was perfectly balanced. This is a piece of something you don't want on your plate. This is actually, in my estimation, worse than the abortive reboots that have happened in the last 25 years. I seriously hate this work. I recommend the original work, or JA3.

Jagged Alliance 2 is a timeless classic! Despite its old graphics, the deep strategy, engaging characters, and tactical combat make it one of the best turn-based games ever. A must-play for any strategy fan!
