This is one hell of a game. You start off with an AI saying you have brain damage, and then you're taunted by the ever consistent Volkov (the game show host who taunts you as you ascend the ever changing prison) and from there you can dictate the pace of the action, it's a very high fidelity game which can put a bit of pressure on your graphics card but it still runs smoothly and the combat feels amazing. The natural high from cracking enemy skulls is complimented by the various upgrades you can find throughout, which just scratches the cyberpunk aesthetic I love so much. I don't think you're really meant to think about the cybernetic enhancements too hard, but I still like to think about the morality of chopping off your limbs, replacing every piece including your heart, spine, and head with mechanical facsimiles that mock the human form in exchange for super-human abilities representing the ever growing desperation for freedom. There is also a story that unlocks and develops as you complete the tower on various difficulties but I've only done so on the base difficulty so far but you can kinda figure from the brain damage at the beginning that you'll have to piece together the puzzle as you go. All this basically to say I absolutely adore this game and I'm looking forward to the rest of it as I rip and tear from mild amnesia to glorious freedom carved in a path of blood and machinery :)

I bought this game this morning and played as much as I possibly could today (just under eight and a half hours). I can't even remember how I found out about it but it came at the perfect time, it was exactly the kind of game I was looking for. So far I've cleared the tower once, managed to wrangle one complete implant set together in a run (nearly did it a second time but the build was working against me a bit), unlocked about half the skill tree and had an absolute blast the whole time. The combat is super fun, it has that Batman Arkham combat magnetism where you fly around the arena to slam into an enemy which hasn't stopped being satisfying yet. There's tons of build diversity with implants, augments and mutations, attaching status effects to each combo makes it worthwhile to learn them and use them with intention, the enemies are varied enough throughout the run that I don't really get tired of fighting them across consecutive runs. Overall it just feels really good to play, it's got juice. Melee feels crunchy, the guns kick back, enemies crumple or fall to hacked-up pieces, and stringing together combos and weaving gunfire and melee attacks together feels amazing. I'm playing on the Steam Deck and the game runs great. There's a few very itty bitty glitches here and there that I noticed while playing. Mostly just visual stuff like dismembered bodies floating upright in the air after a kill or character portraits and subtitles not appearing when someone is talking. Nothing that impacted gameplay so I really don't mind too much. Kiborg is an excellent game. I can't really call it a hidden gem as it only came out a few days ago but I'm glad I stumbled on it. A lot of action games nowadays play like FromSoftware's games and that's cool, I love those games and the games they inspired, but it's nice to have a new beat 'em up roguelite in the mix. You can button bash to victory or you can be very methodical using he numerous abilities in your arsenal, you get the best of both worlds. I anticipate many more hours of fun with this game in the near future and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys beat 'em ups or roguelikes.

Put so many hours into Arkham Knight playing as each character over and over for perfect scores and I have always wanted someone to take that similar fighting gameplay and make a rogue-like out of it. Endless fighting and trying different things. Ill be playing this for a while.

If you dodge the terrible voice acting and a UI made by someone on the team that had a little bit of extra time over, it's a pretty fun game. I recommend it, but wait for a sale - it's a bit too much for what it is at the moment.

Just like Batman Arkham, if Batman was smoking crack. IT'S INSANE. Old-school cyberpunk aesthetic, 1980's Smash TV arcade action, and protagonist that be looking like Vin Diesel in Chronicles of Riddick. Just buy it.
