Excellent Western-themed shooter game. Super fun & addictive, combat feels snappy and responsive. There's a mechanic called "Showdown" (bullet-time) allowing you to take down multiple enemies at once, very satisfying to use. You'll unlock additional revolvers & passive items to make each run easier (double dash, survive one extra hit, faster reload, etc.) Approx. ~8-14 hours to unlock the Achievements. A fast-paced, highly enjoyably addictive roguelite where you have to not only keep track of your ammo count, but be aware of where the enemies are coming from and actually aim at them and take your shots. There's only one map but that didn't stop this game from being engaging with all the different challenges you have to complete if you want to unlock new abilities and weapons to be able to test them out and see which one would suit your playstyle in order to progress through the level becoming more and more of a true gunslayer. [I]P.S. Don't forget to reload.
I'd rate this game 300/301 dead crows (the remaining crow is the boss that killed me). The gameplay loop is really fun, and the curses are great at spicing things up. Kill the Crows is more than worth the $5. The only thing I'd want to add is an accessibility setting to make the Witch's Necklace automatic. It's my favorite gun, but using it feels like I'm speed running carpal tunnel syndrome.
Kill The Crows This is the first time in YEARS that I bought the game blindly, I just saw the trailer, liked it's style and setting, didn't even bother trying out the free Demo first and just bought it straightaway, and I'm having NO REGRETS whatsoever. Game doesn't exactly have a lot of content, but I actually really like that fact because Kill The Crows isn't overloaded with ton of unneeded mechanics, animations and crazy immersion breaking stuff. Kill The Crows keeps it simple yet fun and dynamic as hell, you can make a build that suits your needs the best with all of the unlockable stuff: Passives (perks), Revolvers and Showdown abilities (basically this game's version of Dead Eye from Red Dead Redemption). Bosses are unique, even though it feels that it could've been much more done with them as regular enemies feel more interesting and intense to fight with, but perhaps it feels like that because boss is, well, a boss and he's the only character that present on the arena during the boss fight (aside from Ghosts of the Crows), my absolutely favorite gotta be Hunter (boss who appears after 300 kills) as he feels most unique and challenging out of all three bosses. On one hand it's a shame that we didn't really get a deep dive into Isabella's story, but on the other hand - mystery kind of adds to her character and overall atmosphere of a game. Game has only one map, which can be a problem for some people, but you can always spice stuff up however you want with all of the unlockable Curses (gameplay mutators) which can make your gameplay both more dynamic and much more challenging. I can't express how much I LOVE overall atmosphere of the game and especially it's soundtrack, even though it has only one track and the other one is just a same track but slightly remixed for a boss fight - it just gives so much atmosphere and adds to game's overall setup and story, I love the kind of music in video games that sound tragic as hell but also has that "It's time to kick ass" mood. I love this game, I love it's style, I love it's music, I love it's sound design, I love it's gameplay loop and how enjoyful it is, I love everything about this game. I wish success to all of the people who spent their time working on this game and were adding content post-release, and want to express my gratitude for this game. Kill The Crows is really cheap and it goes on sales regularly, just don't expect TOO MUCH from the game as it doesn't have a whole lot of content, but it has enough to keep you entertained for days and perhaps you'll even want to come back to replay it someday, because even after you finish your playthrough and get through the ending - Kill The Crows still has a hell of a fun gameplay loop that you can use to kill your time and it has ENOUGH content to change your personal gameplay loop one way or another, I'm asking you to give this game a chance only because game's truly deserves it. 10/10 - Will be playing it again.
