I bought this game because "haha bug game, I'm a bug", but this was actually such an exciting challenge to play through. It's a super simple arena shooter with wall running mechanics that constantly keep you airborne, bouncing from pillar to pillar while you fight hordes of enemies. Despite this simplicity the mechanics are actually super smooth and in depth, with some hidden moves (that the game doesn't really seem to give you any tutorial for, despite being tied to achievements). This fluidity kept me from ever feeling like it was the games fault I died, I always knew where I slipped up. Mastering the techniques this game provides gives you a great sense of satisfaction when you gradually get further and further, and your heart pounds harder and harder just knowing you're about to beat a high score and can't afford to lose now. Peak bug game, I recommend it.

KILLBUG is a simple, fast, and incredibly fun game that knows exactly what it wants to be. The combat is intuitive and satisfying, the kind that gets you into a flow state without requiring too much thought: you just move, attack, and destroy everything in your path. The enemies help a lot with this, as they’re aggressive enough to keep the tension constant, especially once they start surrounding you. The best part is that surviving for longer depends heavily on movement and reading the environment. Using the walls to gain some distance, escape groups, or reposition yourself during combat makes everything more dynamic and keeps the game from becoming nothing more than mindlessly mashing buttons. Even with all the chaos, there’s a sense of rhythm and control to each run. In the end, KILLBUG is exactly the kind of game that’s perfect for killing some time: fast, straightforward, and a lot of fun. There’s just something about running around and killing everything in your path that never gets old here.

a ton of fun with a super tight movement kit. feels great moment-to-moment, and I like the small space. could've used a bit of progression or some alternate arenas, maybe, but still a treat for what it is~
