One of the last breaths of a dying genre, where you're allowed to get as good as you want. You'll get rolled for awhile until you don't, but when arena FPS gameplay finally clicks it's one of the best feelings in gaming.

its free now!!! Basically, it's like Quake 3 CPMA. Amazing game with insane skill ceiling and imo winning in this game is proof of the absolute best of the best FPS players. Not a lot of players *always* playing but you can get matches any time if you ask. Nice community and you get to be friends with a lot of players since you see the same people a lot. It is an extremely rewarding game to learn if you can persevere and be ok with sucking for a long time. Though you definitely get gatekept by stuff like mechanics and map knowledge at first, you soon get to a point where you are 50-0'ing new players and recognizing what to do, what's right and wrong. But then you are left wondering how the best players are beating you, because they seem to turn every decision you make into the wrong one. You start to build instinct or unconscious competence to a point where you start to surprise yourself with your own potential and gameplay. But. It is so unbelievably difficult to get really good at, and to also keep your mental intact along the way. I think I've only seen around 10% of players NOT crash out over this game. It really forces you to confront yourself in a very deep and uncomfortable way if you commit to getting better. This game is sick af though check it out it is so much fun

If you have been playing Quake 3 Arena, specifically Rocket Arena, this is it. There is nothing better. Forget Quake Live, this is by far superior. Enjoy! Highly recommend.

Quake veterans will love this game due to its mobility.(CPMA) The Map editor is superb. This is currently the best AFPS and its going free to play. the developer has returned from his slumber and is actively updating the beta client. Please return to this game and join the steam group.
