Man am I late to the party. I had this on my wish list after hearing good things and for whatever reason bought it a few days ago. This is unironically such a great boomer shooter. The weapons all sound and feel amazing to use. The game is legit pretty hard on the higher difficulties. The movement is fast without feeling slippery or out of control. The soundtrack is a complete bop while also fitting perfectly in with the humorous tone. I don't know how they did it but I think this is a perfect game? If you've EVER liked a boomer shooter you owe it to yourself to try this one. If you've NEVER liked a boomer shooter this is a great introduction to the genre. Fashion Police Squad is a joyous triumph. Buy it now!

I really wish Steam had a neutral rating. The game itself isn't bad. Having to use different weapons to take out enemies is a cool idea. Having to use strategy and take out the heavy hitters first. That's fine until there are so many enemies on the screen you don't know what weapon to use first. What really turned me off from this was the platforming....it felt like I had to jump at just the right spot to land. Then if you didn't land right, you don't have enough momentum to bounce forward. The boss fights were fun at least. A 6/10 game.

There are not many games that know what they want to be and execute on that want with such full throated glee as Fashion Police Squad. Joy oozes from every detail of this game, corny, campy, occasionally dated meme-y joy. In a world of a thousand boomer shooters, the one with the pitch "all the enemies are unfashionable and all your weapons are dedicated to fixing fashion crimes" stands out. While i might have liked a little more in the way of maneuverability, and there was something odd about the jump button, my criticisms for this game are few in number, especially for one with such a small dev team that seems to have begun life as a university project. It was fun, funny and stocked with extra little "gimmick sections" that varied up gameplay without ever overstaying their welcome. I'm tempted to describe some of them here, but honestly, the joy of realizing what's about to happen in some of these moments is too good to spoil.

With boomer shooters being practically a dime a dozen these days, you have to do something pretty inventive to stand out. This game, fittingly enough, went all-in on having a unique style. FPS (har) lives and dies based on The Bit, and... well, it's a good bit. The game fully embraces its silly premise, presented with a total earnestness that remains funny and endearing from front to back without overstaying its welcome at all. The mechanics are a rock-solid foundation; good weapons, varied enemies, well-structured levels, no noticeable complaints at all. I think my one beef with the game is that each enemy is not just vulnerable to one weapon type, but can *only* really be fought with one or two weapons. It makes sense with the game's style, but there were some moments where I was bummed that I couldn't use the (wonderful) shotgun against more enemies than the handful of guys wearing dull suits. (Also, the soundtrack bumps.) This is a very easy recommend to anyone who enjoys boomer shooters but wants something a bit more fresh.

It is a very fun FPS for a few evenings with a very challenging moments. It utilizes the Doom Eternal formula of swapping weapons and puts it at the center of the approach to enemies. Fun story and great soundtrack. If you are up for some fashionable challenges, this FPS is for you.
