It's odd that people are complaining that the free to play version doesn't come with all of the characters? I could name 10+ games where you have to buy or EARN your characters by playing the game. Additionally, imagine paying full price for any of the "newer" MK's, and then having to pay an additional kidney to get a character that should've been added in the original roster (Takeda, Tanya, Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel, Sheeva, Mileena, Rain, Ermac, Quan Chi). You can get all of the characters in KI for less than an MK game and this is one of the best fighters available IMO.

8/10 PROS: The combat is unreal, You could play this game for hundreds of hours IF you go through every character and play through every mode through all 6 difficulties, Shadow Lords offers a roguelike, single-player campaign mode with RPG elements which to me is the best mode of thhe game, Pretty extensive training mode, single match options, practice dojo and survival mode is fun too. CONS: No proper arcade mode. There's a story mode which is fun but only 7 matches and you typically fight the same roster of matches regardless of which character you pick, which is confusing when there's so many other characters/stages that you don't seem to fight against in story mode, Online is dead. Very surprised this title isn't more popular to be honest.

One of the best fighting games of all time! Soundtrack 10/10 Sound design: 10/10 Gameplay: 10/10 Character design: 10/10 Netcode: ROLLBACK This game is more than 10 years old and still remains a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MASTERPIECE!

Wow, this game blew away all my expectations, its just that good to a long time fighting game player who started with SF2 on SNES. Ignore my Steam playtime, I have around 200h in the Xbox version since its initial launch: My favourite fighting game of all time, and I've played a *lot* of them. Simple to learn, difficult to master. An absolutely incredible soundtrack, badass character design, stellar net code, and a great amount of single-player content if playing online isn't your thing. Bought every season as they were releasing back on Xbox, and grabbed the Steam version just so I could play it on the go on Steam Deck (it works an absolute treat). Worth every penny.
