it's a nostalgia itch for me. I played this as a kid from a random sale at a bookstore. It's really fun to kill a weekend on. Building and fighting AI kinda like starcraft. for the price you get at 2026? it's handsdown absolutely worth every dollar. Note, its gonna be abit janky compability wise because of how old it is. If u get stuck entering CD key like i did, press 3 keys like "zxc" should work. the letters are either z,x or c, so keep trying till you get it lol.
The following is what worked for me in getting the game to work with Windows 10, which is related to the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) settings. Solution: click Windows + R and type "sysdm.cpl" Then go to the Advanced tab. In the performance section, select Settings, then "Data Execution Prevention" Check the option "enable DEP for all programs and services except those selected below". Next add to exceptions the files listed below, found in the main directory of the game: KnightShift.exe Config.exe After doing this, the game is running fine for me on Windows 10.
