If you’ve ever wanted to feel like the lead in a high-stakes thriller where your choices actually shape the outcome, this is one experience worth checking out. It’s part movie, part game — a fully live-action, interactive story that drops you right into the middle of a crime gone sideways. You play as a regular guy — a smart, calm student working the night shift at a parking garage. Nothing exciting ever really happens… until, suddenly, it does. What starts as a normal evening quickly turns into a dangerous chain of events involving stolen goods, criminal gangs, and life-or-death decisions. And here’s the twist: you get to make the choices as the story unfolds. One of the best things about it is how smooth everything feels. You’re not pausing the story to choose what happens — the decisions come up while the action keeps going, and you only have a few seconds to pick. This keeps the pace fast and the tension high. It feels more like you're reacting in the moment, not just clicking buttons. The acting is solid all around. The lead actor does a great job showing someone who’s clearly in over his head but trying to keep control. His reactions feel real, whether he’s trying to talk his way out of trouble or making a desperate run for it. The rest of the cast also brings strong performances, especially the characters you’re not sure whether to trust. Everyone feels believable, and that adds to the immersion. Visually, it’s shot like a sleek crime movie. London at night sets the mood perfectly — quiet streets, neon lights, dark corners — and the camera work is polished without feeling overly dramatic. The soundtrack is subtle but effective, adding to the sense of urgency without taking over. What makes this stand out from other interactive stories is just how many choices there are. There are over a hundred decision points and several different endings, which means you can go back and play it multiple times to see how things could have turned out differently. Some paths end in disaster, while others feel more complete or satisfying. But even the "bad" endings feel like natural results of the choices made — not just random punishment for picking the wrong thing. The story itself is well written. It’s not overly complicated, but it’s smart enough to keep you guessing. There's tension, mystery, and even some unexpected emotional moments. What’s impressive is how the game doesn’t just ask you to choose between “good” and “bad.” The decisions are often morally grey — sometimes there’s no clear right answer. You might be choosing between protecting someone or saving yourself, between honesty and survival. That kind of storytelling makes you think — and sometimes makes you regret what you picked, in the best way. If there’s a downside, it’s that not every path is as fleshed out as others. Some playthroughs feel shorter or end more suddenly, depending on what you choose. But honestly, that just encourages you to dive back in and try another route. It doesn’t take long to replay, and each run feels just different enough to stay interesting. As far as gameplay goes, it’s simple. There are no puzzles, no action scenes you control, and no traditional gaming mechanics. It’s all about the story and the choices. So if you’re looking for something with a lot of interactivity or challenge, this might feel too passive. But if you enjoy story-driven experiences and love the idea of controlling a movie with your decisions, this delivers. In the end, this is one of the best examples of interactive film done right. It’s sharp, engaging, and surprisingly emotional. It respects your time, gives you real control over the story, and looks great doing it. Whether you’re into games or just looking for a new way to experience a movie, it’s absolutely worth a try.

Although our choices which in the first couple of chapters don't make differences, rest of them quiet do. However, there are some story flaws. For example, the place where May-Ling know ,which is a hotel, is the same place where we go when we choose "Better Plan", or after the car accident ,due to one of our previous choices, May-Ling doesn't want to do anything, but if we choose different option, May-Ling wants us to go to the Mr. Woe. Despite the sad fact that there are ,for me, huge mistakes in story, alternative endings and overall "choice matter" are so fun to play such a short game.

🔷INTRO🔷 Late Shift invites you to follow the night of a parking attendant who finds himself involved in a very bad situation... It's an interactive film, with a simple premise: as you watch the movie, choices are offered, and certain events change depending on what you decide to do or say. 🔷REVIEW🔷 I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the acting. Let's face it, in FMV games this isn't always a strong point. However, here I found each actor to be perfect in their respective roles. Add to that the excellent cinematography (how beautiful it is!) and I felt like I was watching a real movie, so much so that when the choices appeared on the screen, I was sometimes taken aback: I had forgotten I was playing an FMV game. The props were the only thing that reminded me that this wasn't a big film production. The various scenes flow seamlessly, even during the "time to make a choice" moments. There are 7 different endings in total, although chapters regularly overlap, meaning the storyline remains largely the same, with some minor changes. Some chapters will only be accessible through specific choices. There was enough action and suspense to keep my attention and keep me guessing, and I wanted to see what happened next. 🥂 I had a great time watching this "movie" so much so that I watched it a second time for fun and to see other chapters. 🔷SAVING SYSTEM and CHAPTERS🔷 The game auto-saves at each chapter. We cannot change our previous choices and we cannot select the chapter. We cannot speed up or skip scenes. ⏱️DURATION⏱️ 1h15.

Good story telling and good acting, although after some time the options get kind of predictable. Good game overall.

Late Shift was the very first FMV game I ever played, and it completely hooked me on the genre. I even made videos trying to get that elusive "perfect" ending, which shows just how much it kept me engaged. The game itself is definitely on the good side of the scale, the story is gripping, the choices feel meaningful, and the multiple endings add great replay value. Plus, the production quality and acting are solid, making it feel like a proper movie where you control the narrative. It’s a great pick if you’re into interactive storytelling or just want a unique gaming experience.
