It's a good game. The graphics are nice, and the gameplay is varied and quite fun. It has voice acting, which feels a bit uncanny in this game. My only gripe is that the side content is just awful; everything is an uninspired and repetitive mess.

I've only ever played LEGO Ninjago before this, and I think I may have enjoyed the gameplay of that one more. But this is still good. The amount of collectibles, activities and optional missions available are staggering. I've completed the main campaign, but that's only a fraction of what this game has to offer. I'll keep playing the Free Play modes and unlocking more characters and vehicles. But as I write this review, I'm not even 50% on total collections!!! This is not the grinder game I'm looking for, so it's unlikely I'll get 100% like I did in LEGO Ninjago, but for now I'm enjoying the post-game. Recommended.

Pros: + Based off of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens + DLC Levels are fantastic + Big Character Roster, if you own all the DLC characters + Carbonite Bricks are an ambitious addition + Fantastic Soundtrack, especially when it comes to The Funk Awakens + Most Cutscenes replicate the charm of Episode VII: The Force Awakens + Rey is very cool + Perfect on Steam Deck Cons: - Button Mashes and Quick Time Events galore, mixing in with a huge amount of backtracking - The Phantom Limb Level Pack and the Droid Character Pack were not part of the Season Pass - Side Missions are ultimately reliant on trial and error - Collecting various items gets repetitive quickly - There were crashes when players tried playing the game, but thankfully that got fixed

as obscure as lego the force awakens is its one of my favorite movie adaptations in lego as youd expect it follows the story of episode 7 while having the very first level in the game to feature a prologue of the battle of endor its an overall good game with character DLCs from various eras such as the clone wars and star wars rebels

I am leaving this review here simply to show a fix i found and explain how it works in more detail for if other games have a similar issue or for people to actually be ware off how to fix it and why it's broken Tldr/solution: in appdata\roaming\warner bros. Interactive entertainment\ lego star wars the force awakens\GUI3\Assets in there delete the file visitlego_offline_dx11 .TEX and it should be fixed first i'm going to mention some other fixes i found and explain their flaws i still mention them because they lead me to finding the actual fix Other fixes: There are recommendations (notably in the steam community) to delete the gui3 folder entirely or to rename it but this only works to play offline due to steam fixing the files on launch There is a fix where you simply remove everything in the gui3 folder without deleting subfolders this works as well as the fix i mentioned in the tldr it's simply a bit less useful and more time consuming due to there only being 1 actual problematic file the actual problem file and explanation on why the other files are harmless: The visitlego file is the one causing the game to automatically try to connect to servers and is the core issue due to the server not existing any longer it makes the game have an error and crash the other files in the subfolders are fine and harmless (in the Assets subfolder those are simply links to websites and those still work and just open your steam browser: the dlc and season pass bring you to their steam pages while the 3rd one simply goes to a lego website)
