As said over and over, this is indeed a spiritual successor to the Majesty games - which I loved playing for many years. Using the same voice actors is simply an amazing touch that gives me the feels all over again. To address the elephant in the room, yes, this launched with a fair few bugs, tho I personally only saw a few and restarting the game fixed them. However in the days since, the devs have been patching and all the ones that I saw have been addressed. Now it plays great for me. Highly recommended.

Reviewed by a veteran of the Old Kingdom/ Let me be clear: I loved the original Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. The feeling of being a distant monarch, guiding my heroes without direct control, was genius. And I, like many, was deeply disappointed by Majesty 2, which lost that special magic in its overly scripted missions. That's why discovering Lessaria felt like coming home. This game doesn't just imitate the first Majesty; it understands its very soul and builds upon it beautifully. It's the true spiritual successor I've been waiting for. Why Lessaria Captures the Majesty 1 Magic (And Improves It): Just like in the golden days, your role is to build the world and set incentives. You place the taverns, markets, and blacksmiths, post bounties on monsters, and then you watch your wonderfully independent heroes and citizens venture out into the world. The joy of seeing a party form organically and head towards a dragon's lair because you placed a hefty reward on its head is back, and it's as satisfying as ever. While Majesty 1 had a great style, Lessaria's world is more vibrant and alive. The citizens have more personality, the world is richer in small visual details, and the day/night cycle makes the kingdom feel like a living entity. It’s those "minor improvements" that make all the difference: more nuanced AI behaviors, a wider variety of building interactions, and a more engaging economic loop. Unlike the mission-based, often restrictive structure of Majesty 2, Lessaria returns to a more open-ended sandbox feel. You expand your kingdom at your own pace, discovering secrets and dealing with random events that make each playthrough unique. It feels like a true kingdom simulation, not a puzzle to be solved. Lessaria has all the core ingredients that made the first game a classic—the indirect control, the quirky heroes, the emergent storytelling—but adds its own layer of modern polish and deeper management mechanics. It doesn't feel dated; it feels evolved. Final Verdict: For any fan of the original Majesty who felt let down by the sequel, Lessaria is your redemption. It faithfully recreates the unique feeling of being a "hands-off" ruler while adding its own charming and intelligent improvements. It's the game Majesty 2 should have been. A must-play for all Majesty 1 enthusiasts!

Disclaimer: this review is mostly only positive due to the obscene lack of Majesty-likes on the market. To summarize, it's not a bad game, but fans of Majesty will likely be disappointed. However, genre newcomers will likely enjoy the experience. As a bit of background, I've been a die-hard fan of Majesty nearly since its inception. Majesty 1 permanently molded my taste in games, and Majesty 2 is in my top 3 games of all time. Lessaria is, to my knowledge, the first game to convincingly follow in Majesty's footsteps after a grueling 16 years, which makes it immediately noteworthy. Unfortunately, Less(aria) is not always more. It feels more like a fan-made remake of Majesty 2 than a proper spiritual successor. It offers very little in terms of innovation, and hosts a slew of confusing regressions. The grid-based placement within an extremely limited town space feels claustrophobic, most of the buildings are nearly 1:1 copies from Majesty 2, and aside from portals (which are neat), it offers very little to set itself apart. The production chain economy buildings feel undercooked, the sandbox mode feels like an afterthought, and the "special guilds/temples" feel a bit bland when compared to the spiritual predecessor (though to be fair, comparing anything to Krypta is unfair). That being said, there is still fun to be had. Especially considering Majesty 2 barely runs on modern hardware, and can be a bit obtuse for those new to the series. Despite the inherent flaws in the restrictive grid system, I do think this game still has potential if it receives proper content updates and not just maintenance/patches. Regardless of my complaints, I'm still overjoyed that Majesty is seeing renewed interest in the indie scene, and am hopeful to see the indirect control city builder genre find a resurgence in the near future.

It's Majesty 3, with some new features and returning narrator doing many of the voice lines. Game seems fun, abit rough around the edges but hope to see the game patched for bugs. Heros seem to wander wherever they want so you don't need scout flags to direct them, also alittle sad that they are limiting how far you can build from the keep, but a fun game none the less, 3 missions in, having fun.

With this price, the game is definitely worth trying out. Pros: Pleasant graphics Gameplay similar to Majesty 2 Cons: I miss the automatic settings for less micro-management in the later stages of the game I spent more than 7 hours in the free demo, and I enjoyed it. I would have even paid \$10 for the demo :)
