There's a description I've heard before: 'A bowl of delicious ramen, but every few bites you bite into an eggshell.' This is probably the most accurate way to describe this game. Looking at the big picture, this game completely scratches the itch when it comes to the management process, development progression, planning design, and other aspects that simulation games prioritize. I think the direction for the entire academy management simulation is correct and quite well-planned. Some new features when progressing or small surprise event also make you feel impressed while playing. However, the game also has various strange design choices and bugs scattered throughout different systems. These include: Room fans that can't be adjusted based on temperature (you can only turn them all on or off), causing rooms to go from hot to too cold if you place too many Eating certain early-game foods makes all teachers and students gain weight, but you can only slim down with another food unlocked much later in the game (and somehow not through exercise?) Unclear connection between teaching skill and what courses teachers can teach, causing teacher to constantly show 'insufficient teaching skill' even when all students are passing Excessive costs for improving teachers' skills, making it absolutely more cost-effective to replace teachers than to develop them Two different buttons for removing items, where pressing the wrong one when trying to remove a small item causes the entire facility to disappear with no way to restore it Teachers who join through events don't display their commuting method, so you only discover they can't reach the school after you've hired them ...and many other 'eggshells' beyond these These issues frequently cause frustration and disappointment even while you're otherwise enjoying the game. I wonder if the development team is still working to improve these unfriendly systems. I hope they can remove these 'eggshells' as soon as possible. Without these flaws, this game would definitely be a top-tier management simulation game.

Usually a good metric for when a game is good, is when you decide to play it for about an hour before going to bed, and you end up playing it until 1:30am. Let's School is one of those games. The game never grows boring on you, the gameplay is calming and relaxing, and you get to build your perfect anime school! The only thing I'd suggest is an option to keep the names of the characters in Japanese, it's kinda odd making a school in Japan and the name of the students are very American like "John Reed", "Jane Ford" It's the perfect game for a lazy holiday afternoon.

this game unironically teaches the value of middle management. let's face it: as headmaster, i simply do not have the capacity to oversee 12 bathrooms. instead, i apply my towering authority and soaring intellect to the solemn role of building fun little rooms for the stray cats that keep showing up. main complaint is that there's no "please do not ask me again" option for the "do you want to adopt this cat?" dialog. yes, i do, every time, forever.

Surprsiingly addicting with the newer updates adding a lot of additional gameplay and challenges. A time investment well worth the effort.

Very buggy and some UI design features are frustrating, tho overall it is very fun for anyone enjoying construction, management and nicely balanced difficulty of such games. I find it is rare for games of this genre to be challenging and fun at high difficulty levels, as most become spreadsheet simulators and meta abuse skill checks because there is so little depth to the mechanics. Here tho there is very much depth, and also some chaos from random events. So much depth, in the beginning the gameplay can feel overwhelming from all the features and possible approaches to play and sadly the documentation is very sparse. Once tho the systems are understood, it is fun to build and design a nice school that wins in beauty and performance, and I think maybe this is the best game of its kind. The "maybe" becomes "definitely" when the bugs are fixed.
