Loan Shark – Hooked on Bad Decisions Went in expecting an unsettling little game about eldritch fish and questionable business practices. Walked out with some surprisingly memorable life lessons. The underwater sound design is excellent, and the game uses silence and sudden audio cues to create some genuinely unnerving moments. Rather than relying on constant scares, it builds tension through atmosphere. I'd describe it as psychological horror more than traditional horror, and I think it's much stronger because of that. The game also has a great sense of humor despite its unsettling atmosphere. What really surprised me was how much going for every achievement added to the game. I ended up using a guide to find everything, and I'm glad I did. Discovering every ending completely changed my perspective on the story. Each one left me with something different to think about, making the whole experience feel far richer than a single playthrough. The controls can feel a little clunky, the fish gutting is occasionally janky, and the game feels surprisingly demanding to run for an indie title. None of it was enough to take away from the experience. Considering how much it left me thinking afterward, the price feels more than fair for what you're getting. One small thing to note is that increasing the UI scale also increases the subtitle size, so you may want to adjust it on larger displays. I came for the fish. I stayed for the existential crisis.

Very fun and fascinating little horror game with incredible dialogue. The story is simple but it does its job perfectly, and how most of the scenes are delivered are extremely well directed. Although, let's face it, the game isn't very polished. The main features work fine, but they're akward to use, which is unfortunate as it really is the only drawback. STILL, for the price it's still worth buying it and supporting these talented developers!

This is one of those games that after you completing it you're never going to play it again. But dont get me wrong it is still really fun.

A somewhat unpolished dark fishing game with a deeper story you can probably guess. Totally playable in 30min-1hr. There is a single ending though there are some side paths opened which you can take for achievements but you end up at the same ending. Worth $5 CAD? Maybe, though I wish there were alternate endings with different achievements.
