I never thought that I will like vn about elections so much Yes, Chisato made me angry a lot of times. But it's good thing that the this vn (Koichoсo) is able to evoke such emotions. Because of it, Koichoco is more interesting and more diverse then usual moege. Better than boredom, don't you think? Also Koichoco even gets depressing sometimes (at least in one route). So I love it. Plot is about elections to student council in school. it's just a school. But there are intrigues, corruption, bugs, spies, classes divide, welfare programs, monopoly of power, secret unit. It's like it's not a school, but the government of the country. So yes, story is unreal. And so what? Unreal doesn't mean bad. And this plot wasn't boring for me personally. Isara's and Satsuki's routes are my favorites. Other three are fine or meh. Looks like I only one in the world who like KoiChoco more than Aokana. Another confirmation of my specific tastes, I guess.

Love, Elections, & Chocolate (LEC) is the kind of visual novel that washed over me. There's nothing particularly great about it, nor anything particularly awful; it just went in one ear and out the other—or in one eye and out the other, I suppose. The protagonist Yuuki is a member of the Culinary Research Club (CRC). Despite the fancy name, his club basically just hangs out after school eating snacks purchased with their club budget. That's until Satsuki Shinonome, a candidate for the upcoming student council presidential election, releases her platform, and the CRC is among the clubs she plans to terminate as part of her budget reforms. After much persuasion from his friends, Yuuki eventually agrees to run for student council president in order to protect their club. Unfortunately, his campaign is somewhat of a footnote compared to Yuuki's growing romance with the five routes' select heroines. And while I can buy into the student council elections being a big deal in-universe, the way that Yuuki and his campaign treat them like not much of a big deal for 90% of each route until some massive, sometimes life-threatening incident is more than a little unbelievable. Similarly, the romance plots are, most of the time, unbearably melodramatic. Still, there is a bit of good in LEC. Isara and Satsuki's routes are mostly good, even though the placement of the H-scenes in the latter is a little wonky. Likewise, the common route is actually the best "route" in the VN. LEC's best moments are when almost all of the CRC is interacting, bantering, and just having fun; the common route has the most of this, and was surprisingly funny. Overall though, LEC never fully engaged me. I know it's Love and then Elections in the title, but I really think putting the politics on the back burner was a mistake, because I think that's part of the reason why the sudden escalations in the seriousness of Yuuki's campaign near the end of most routes feel unnatural. I imagine LEC appeals to a certain demographic of readers for its blend of school politics and romance, but I'm not a part of it. 6/10

This game quite surprise me a lot with the political stuffs because when I read "School Election" from the synopsis, I thought of an average anime about election (A show like "Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian" which I'm just finished watching before I started this game) and it's all like ground level stuffs, but this VN takes the concept and applies real life democracy system to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ high school in which somehow does everything functionally, but after all this game doesn't really breaks itself from being partially moege with more politically intense scenario than most anime with the same plot out there. Overall, 8 /10
