I wasn’t sure how a stealth game would work in 2D, but this game absolutely nails it. The gameplay offers a great variety of tools, fun challenges, and levels worth replaying with different approaches and playstyles. I’m not going to sit here and list the pros and cons. If you like stealth games, you need to play this.
Warning: cap the refresh rate at 60Hz or it has graphical issues (poison fog and rain not showing etc) Has green flickering glitches on steam deck, apparently fixed by running on Proton Experimental (yet to try). Beyond the massive stereotypes used, the game itself is great fun. You can play quick and brutal, or slow and methodical. Lots of different options, and the bonus objectives make the levels more replayable. Needs a sequel, and a patch to fix the errors (that weren't in the pre-remastered version), but probably the most fun 2D stealth game I've played. I'd love to have community content/steam workshop mods, or some DLC at least. It would keep the game interesting after you finish the main content
PSL GIVE US MARK OF NINJA 2 !!!! I only have a few hours of play time, because I only picked up the remastered for a quick run. I actually wore out the first MofN. Reading the developers' comments (you can activate them from the menu), I understood how much passion the guys put into this game. Mark of Ninja I believe should be taken as an EXAMPLE of perfect development. The game is perfect in every technical part. The timing, the aesthetics, the controls, AI, balance. Every part of it is meticulously cared for. It's a game that borders on perfection, if it exists. I only got it to support INDIE developers. Do it, because as long as there are developers pushing out games like this and ONI, the game is safe for all those who have true passion. I won't stop to describe the game, because many have already told you everything. But really a big round of applause to the developers. Don't miss it, it's truly a fantastic game. ----- Ho poche ore di gioco, perché ho preso la remastered solo per una run veloce. In realtà il primo MofN l'ho consumato. Leggendo i commenti degli sviluppatori ( potete attivarli dal menu), ho capito quanta passione abbiano messo i ragazzi in questo gioco. Mark of Ninja credo che debba essere preso come ESEMPIO di un perfetto sviluppo. Il gioco è perfetto in ogni sua parte tecnica. Il timing, l'estetica, i comandi, IA, bilanciamento. In ogni sua parte é curato allo stato maniacale. E' un gioco che rasenta ma perfezione, ammesso che esista. L'ho preso solo per supportare gli sviluppatori INDIE. Fatelo, perché finché ci saranno sviluppatori che cacciano fuori giochi come questo e ONI, il game é al sicuro per tutti coloro che hanno la vera passione. Non mi fermo a descrivere il gioco, perché in tanti vi hanno giá detto tutto. Ma davvero un grande applauso agli sviluppatori. Non ve lo fate scappare é davvero un gioco fantastico.
Mark of the Ninja: Silent, Deadly & Perfect This game doesn’t teach stealth; it is stealth. Klei didn’t hit the mark - they executed it, hid the body, and vanished before the credits rolled. Art? Gorgeous. Sound? Deadly. Level design? So clean, it makes other stealth games look like clumsy toddlers with swords. If you still haven’t played it, you’re basically committing stealth-based blasphemy. A True Masterpiece that sneaks up, stabs mediocrity, and fades into Legend.
