Very fun game! I've been reading the manga: Overgeared - MC is a blacksmith - and whilst listening to Forge from Glum Aleks, I felt like wanting to do some blacksmithing. This. Game. Is. It!! From gathering ores yourself to smelting them, pouring them in a mold, heating up the metal and hearing the metal clang whilst hammering away with ASWD and mouse control. It's just awesome! Googled the game, bought it the next day, downloaded, played it for the next 2,9h according to Steam xD Was slightly sad when my crafted copper chestplate bounced a little on the ground and got stuck under my forge though. And for some reason, when I wanted to quit the game, my menu didn't work as it should and I couldn't access the 'Quit' button? So there's some bugs to fix, but the gameplay is very nice!!
This scratches an each every other fantasy black smith simulator couldn't. Actual mini games and mechanics to master to make better weapons and armour, mining to get what you need etc. Full disclosure it's rough around the edges, and could certainly do with a few polish revisions and adding int a few more systems and mechanics for the crafting processes. But certainly enjoyable and well worth the price tag.
i've been playing a day in game every irl day (since the save function is kinda ass) but the game is genuinely good, its not that bad. the real problem is how the skill ceiling acts, you really only need to hammer things, there's no other skill that's relevant, that makes the game boring on the crafting part, but it still holds up with the whole adventuring thing.
This is an awesome game. I had an itch for a blacksmithing game ever since I played jacksmith on armor games 20 years ago. Alot of games have aspects of forging and blacksmithing but nothing ever scratched that itch as well as this game did. You can clearly see that alot of effort went into making this and it shines as a result. So far I'd say this is worth every cent and I'd like to thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has that same itch. I'm eager to see more content and I wouldn't even mind if that eventually takes form in a dlc or two.
