Pretty good and fun although. It's challenging and forgiving. I enjoyed the game a lot and mastering all the equipment was fun for the most part. Though the game is very short with only 3 proper zones but I spent a lot of time in each zone so I still got a lot of mileage out of the game. My only real issue is that the story is an absolute mess. It's like if you take a book and cut out chunks and then stitched those chunks together. It treats things as if they were already established, things are introduced but then seemingly dropped, plot points happen that don't go anywhere, and one of the most confusing ending I have seen. It's about humanity barely surviving a war with these subterranian beasts but there are also aliens involved I guess, and these aliens helped the humans? And the beasts are not actually at war with humans but the aliens because the aliens are actually the bad guys? But then things just continue as if that revelation never dropped, and I don't even think the aliens are mentioned ever again... I think? I don't know, I got lost, and the ending is like a fever dream.

Buy on sale. Decent game, but with a lot of flaws. It's still enjoyable given circumstances. +Gameplay and combat is decent +Good variety of gear and weaponry +Decent boss mechanics +Ok monster variety -Story is meh -Losing gear is way too punishable -Boss fights don't ease you into it's mechanics and feel more like a DPS race. -Item recipes system so bad. It should have been scrapped entirely. Scrolling through sevaral menus to find what i might be able to craft, only to never find the last item so that i may craft it. -I can't see boss mechanics from all the visual clutter i spam and boss mechanics are super lethal. -Camera pans happen to quickly. You can suddenly fall and land on a mob who will damage you and there's no way to react because you moved so fast from "one screen to another". -Taking projectile damage from off-screen mobs feels stupid.

It's kinda interesting, but not exactly great. I think there's educational value here. The game really gets a lot of stuff right before going completely off the rails. The story is ok, but nothing too special. There's a Support/Accessibility section in the pause menu that lets you enable invincibility, max out skill points and increase damage. Judging by the achievement stats, most people start fiddling with those options before hitting mid-game. You should probably do that too. So the gameplay is not too sophisticated, but engaging. There's a huge amount of weapons and gear. The game encourages you to use each one long enough to master it. Hitting milestones in how much gear you mastered unlocks loadout options at the hub. This kinda forces you into trying everything out, rather than sticking to the best weapon you have available. Something a lot of games fail to do. Then there's the skill tree, where a lot of the options are real, meaningful improvements, rather than just minor increases to the stats. It's incredible how many games completely fail here. Inventory room is kinda tight, but not obnoxious and encourages you to build a strategy and make sacrifices. The crafting is kinda nice too. On the downside, the areas are just way, way too repetitive to work in what's trying to be a roguelite. The enemies get samey. If you're aiming to max out stats and unlock most weapons the honest way, you're going to have a bad time. It takes forever. But then that's kinda compensated with the option to cheat whenever you feel like it. I think I'd recommend a discount, but otherwise it's kinda alright.

Trash story, fun gameplay, buy it while it's on a big sale, like 70% or 80%

Performs well on steam deck. A great little action packed indie game who has some players who absolutely love this game. This much is evident from the game's steam workshop page.
