metro exodus is SO SO PEAK even tho i dropped it after 5 hours. lemme explain. i REALLY didn't like the first major chapter, the open world felt wrong for metro. no tunnels, no claustrophobia, no oppressive weight. the game starts out as metro, but turns into something far greater than og metro. the world & story building in exodus is NEARLY unparalleled imo from intense, claustrophobic action in the metro, to ridiculously detailed open world sections, exodus expands on the first 2 games in a way ive NEVER seen in a trilogy. the story is LEAPS ahead of the first 2 games, by the end, i was genuinely stressed that it was going to end. 2033 had atmosphere, last light had personal stakes, exodus has both + an entirely new layer of story depth. artyom isnt just surviving anymore - hes actually trying to build something. a life, a home, a family. the moral choices actually hit different when youve spent 50 hours with these people on a train. the atmosphere is the best in the series. thats saying something. the tunnels of 2033 are iconic, the station politics of last light are sharp, but exodus shifts from dread to something more complex. the environments are genuinely insane; snowy forests, radioactive deserts, terrifying swamps, a dead city that raised my heartbeat more than OUTLAST did. each level has its own vibe, its own rules, its own rhythm. i loved every single one by the end, in a way that hasnt been replicated by any game ever. combat is drastically improved, yet still lacking in some departments. its functional, but i must admit running over demons with a VAN was undeniably fun. the weapons feel weighty enough, the gun degradation system is a nice touch, but youre not here for the combat. you never were. the open world fear is real but overblown, yes its entirely diff from the first games but its FAR from ubisoft bloat. every area has purpose, every side objective and character belongs. your crew doesnt just feel like a bunch of poorly written slop side characters, they feel like family, and your own decisions DIRECTLY impact what happens to them. on a side note, the pacing between open spaces and tight corridors is balanced better than youd expect. in fact, its phenomenal. put 50 odd hours in on main story alone, havent touched the dlc yet. 50 hours. for a single playthrough of a linear shooter, that speaks for itself. its not perfect. the dialogue is still kinda janky. some voice acting is rough. the stealth sections can be finicky. but the flaws are so small in comparison that they have a negligible impact on the experience. metro exodus is the best game in the trilogy. not the most atmospheric, not the most personal, but the most complete. it takes everything the series built and actually moves it forward. some may say its flawed, but a masterpiece nevertheless. its time to stop reading and to buy the game ffs. just do it man. 9.6/10.

For both Metro Exodus and its PC Enhanced Edition as of 2026, you can use NVIDIA App to override the old DLSS 2.0 to the latest DLSS 4.5 by going to the Graphic > Metro Exodus Or Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition > At "Driver Settings" Section > DLSS Override Model Presets > Select "Recommended" > Apply After that, go to DLSS Override Super Resolution Mode > Select Either DLAA, Quality, Balanced, Performance, Ultra Performance, Or Custom This will making use of the new DLSS 4.5 is significantly looking better than old DLSS version that the game currently use.
