Casual playthrough ~1 hours [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45534557/]@MatureContent It was surprisingly wholesome to watch my wife play this game. She is Chinese and grew up in China at around the time this game takes place, and so for her this game served as a nostalgic and emotional journey back to her childhood. She was also surprisingly familiar with this neighbourhood that she has never visited before. She instantly knew what and where everything was, like all of the suburban neighbourhood layouts were somehow imprinted in her mind. Though it is probably just because they all look the same. You can apparently submit your own childhood pictures to the developer and they will then show up in other people's playthroughs of the game. This is a pretty fun idea, though definitely a feature only really meant for Chinese players, for obvious reasons. When we bought this, we actually thought this was gonna be a VR experience, but it isn't and that is a real shame. A walking sim like this would make so much more sense as a VR experience than what it is now. So here is to hoping the developer adds VR support in the future. There does seem to be some issues with dizziness playing this game. I have seen quite a few Chinese players mention it and my wife also felt sick after about an hour. I'm not sure what caused it, because I was running about 60 fps the whole time. It might be something to look into though. I hope we get a lot more of these 3D time capsules in the future. There truly is something special about being able to travel back in time for a bit and relive some of one's old memories. ————————————————————————————— [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45534557/]Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!

I absolutely loved the concept and the visuals of the game. Everything feels so familiar, even though it really isn’t. The time-travel element is amazing. That 2000s Asian vibe hits hard, especially with all the sound effects and over-the-top graphics. I also loved how the game walks you through each location step by step—but if it actually had an ending, it would be muuuuuch better. Overall, it is a must-play walking simulator.

Edit: In v1.0.4, the developer has added the option to adjust the game's background music volume, yet there is still no way to control the volume of environmental sound effects. In some scenes, such as Mengchuan Experimental School, the environmental sound effects are overly loud and end up drowning out the background music—this leaves me with no choice but to turn up the background music volume just to cover them. I hope the developer will add a dedicated volume control for environmental sound effects to the settings in future updates. My sincere thanks to the developer for their hard work and dedication. =================================== This game still requires further optimization and adjustments. Here are a few examples: With my PC equipped with the 7800X3D + 7900XTX, after entering Changdong City, if "Reflection Quality" in the settings is set to Ultra or Extreme, the game will inevitably crash with a fatal error, forcing me to close it manually. Secondly, at 1920×1080 resolution, the shadows and lighting in some distant scenes, particularly around trees and windows, exhibit significant flickering and jittering, while the lighting and shadows remain stable when observing these areas up close. Lastly, there are no options to adjust the volume of music or sound effects in the settings. These are the primary flaws and areas for improvement I have found during my experience with the game. That said, aside from these optimization and adjustment issues, I am actually quite satisfied with the game—especially its modeling, atmosphere, detail rendering, and music. If you are on the fence about buying it, I recommend picking it up and giving it a try. It is a really great game. However, you will likely have a better experience if you understand some Chinese, as some in-game content—such as flyers posted in residential building hallways, store signs, book covers, and the surfaces of certain items—is printed exclusively in Chinese. There are no translations provided, nor is there a translation feature when focusing on these elements. Speaking of which, I just remembered something I forgot to mention: in the current version (v1.0.3), item names, and even the names of interactive objects, have not yet been translated.

Interesting. Nostalgic, even though I'm Australian. It shows that some experiences and perspectives as children are similar between our cultures. I pray for continued peace between our countries :) I find this fascinating. Getting glimpses into other people's lives. The simple, quiet, little things, in particular. Runs well even at 4k max graphics. I'd like an option for subtitles to only proceed if I press a key, as some advance so quickly that even some words don't display. EDIT: Fixed! Thank you! Also an option to turn off the music would be awesome. I normally disable music and crank up the ambience in games like this. EDIT: Thanks LucidDreamLab for explaining this to me :) I worked out that I wasn't actually adding the cassette to my inventory. Most of the options when using it from my inventory weren't translated, but with a bit of trial and error I found which one pauses the music :) Thank you! It's awesome that the developer is responding and fixing things quickly :) I'll be keeping an eye out for their future games, hopefully more like this one, perhaps showing us their rural or historical settings?

This is the first time, I have ever left a review. I noticed this game prior than others, also; deeply expected the day when it came out. As a kid who was born in the 90s, hardly can I refuse not to thoroughly indulge this game; the shattering memories, the nostalgic toys, the scenes where we used to walk through everyday. Personally, it was like a perfect yet lucid dream whether with any plots in the game or not. Just purely changing the weather and finding a good spot to sit down in the game give me the chill feeling. My favorite venue in this game has to the school, it brought so many good memory to me. I literally froze and did not move for few mins. Can anyone relate to this feeling? But, no one was there. It is like you have to tell yourself the party is over when you finally got there. You could only taste the piece of flavor in your imagination.
