This is one of the best blends of genres i've ever seen a game. I already loved Factorio and combining it with tower defense and real time strategy elements is a perfect motivator to cultivate a factory. Serpulo's campaign in version 7 was my favourite over Erekir, it was alright but very easy, so when version 8 released and introduced a rework of it's campaign including custom maps from other players i was reinvigorated even after spending 1800 hours. Erekir is a very cool and enjoyable campaign though it leans more into the real time strategy aspects than Serpulo which focuses more on factory building so it holds less replay value in my eyes. Regardless, i can't wait for its expansion in future versions. This game encouraged me to explore programming for the first time and make a mod as well as begin learning Russian as Mindustry has a surprisingly large Russian audience, populating most of the community servers. The campaigns are not all there is to experience though, the multiplayer gamemodes are where i find the most enjoyment. I'd go as far as to say that playing against friends in PvP is the most fun i've had in any game on Steam so far. Creating maps for these games is equally enjoyable through the map editor. anyway play this game Спасибо Анукен!

I don't leave reviews often, but Mindustry is a game I need to write one for. It has easily become my favourite game of all time. I've always loved Factory/Resource Management games, and this one takes the cake, and the integration of Real-Time Strategy and Tower Defense make this the best example of a perfect execution that I've ever played. Mindustry is addicting, challenging, well-structured and so rewarding, whether you play single-player or with friends. It's perfect. I love the campaign, it's so well thought out and rewarding, with just as much challenge in it, and when you play with friends, it takes the chaos to a whole new level, frantically trying to work on different things at once right after landing when everyone's using resources. Another thing I absolutely love is the challenge — the game is genuienly hard, and requires quick thinking, actual strategy and efficient logistis, and not to mention, open mod support is amazing and increases it's already high replayability even more, making it more than worth the time investment, especially compared to games like Satisfactory and Factorio which don't even come anywhere near as close as this. I also think it's awesome how you can save and share schematics, or even browse through with the Steam Workshop integration, and heck, even logic which makes the game much easier or versatile (even in Vanilla), which I haven't even touched! This game easily requires more love; it's just too good. My only critique is that updates can be few and far between. However, this is completely understandable (and actually quite impressive) when you realise the game is the passion project of a single developer. The sheer amount of polish, depth, and content we get from a one-man team is staggering. If you enjoy building, defending, and strategising, do yourself a favour and get this game. I guarantee you will not regret it.
Genuinely addicting. A lot less intimidating than Factorio, and I plan on eventually using the brain cells I'm building here to eventually make the jump. Great RTS mechanics, a healthy community with great mod support, and lots of content to sink your teeth into. Its also FOSS!
