Similar to Mini Motorways, Mini Metro relies on the player to ensure that their mini trains pick up the passengers at each station. You do this by dragging a line across stations and by placing a locomotive. The stations are various shapes (circle, square, triangle, etc) and you want to create a network where your passengers (also in the shapes of the stations where they want to go) are connected - the game only ends when a station gets overcrowded. There are many things to enjoy about this game: 1. Puzzle design. there's no "one way" to be successful in a game, you can make all of your lines be loops, or only straight lines, and so on. It helps to beat the boredom that is associated with repetitiveness on playing the same maps. 2. Big variety of maps. Each map is based on the geography of a real life city, allowing for a unique challenge across maps. 3. Daily challenges, where the difficulty can range from normal (regular game mode) to extreme, where you can't change the line once you put it down. And, there's a leaderboard! 4. Map challenges, not to be confused with daily challenges. These are much more difficult achievements where your map has a restriction (ex, only using two bridges/tunnels), and typically you have to survive to a certain amount of weeks or to a certain number of passengers delivered. Keeps the game fresh when you've played all the maps normally, and you want something more difficult. 5. Game modes: you can play normally, on challenge mode (allows you to fix mistakes when playing for a map challenge), creative mode (you can edit the stations themselves), and infinite mode (if you want to see how far your design can go without worrying about stations overloading and ending your game). 6. Simplistic yet satisfying graphics! The maps themselves have their own unique color set for lines, and the map designs are similar to mini metro in that they can be simple, yet easy on the eyes. Potential game detractors: 1. Repetitive daily challenges, especially if you play them regularly. Challenges similar to map challenges (ex, only using two bridges/tunnels) map make this even more fun. 2. While many maps are available and continue to be released (also see: workshop maps), it can get repetitive to play the same maps over. 3. No music: a minor nitpick, but some gentle background music might be cool! 4. No way to "go back" in time and try again if your station overloads: obviously the point to make the maps harder, but nonetheless. You can pause and change your design, but time marches on in the game. Overall, I recommend this game. It is addictive, creative, and overall fun for a short and sometimes intensive challenge. It's not intensive on your computer, and it doesn't need a lot of space. Also, train = fun :) EDIT: HOW DO I BEAT THE AUCKLAND CHALLENGE :( EDIT: I FINALLY BEAT THE AUCKLAND CHALLENGE!
i love this game because much like my passengers, im a stupid little idiot baby who cant do anything for myself. im such a stupid little idiot that i queue up at unserviced train stations waiting for trains that have absolutely no indication of coming, and then proceed to make it everyone else's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem by shutting down the entire city when i can't get to square fast enough. seriously, what the ♥♥♥♥ is even happening at square? why does everyone want to go there? is circle not good enough for you? are you all idiots?
