I played the demo while it was still in Early Access and liked what was there. It's now reached full release and has a lot more content added to it. I'm really enjoying myself and have rather neglected other games in favour of this!! To me it's a puzzle solving game of logistics, not really a city builder (but it doesn't really claim to be one!!). It seems to have a nice difficulty level regarding balance of resource availability. By that I mean a map provides a certain amount of resource laying around on a map, but that's never enough on it's own. It then provides enough ways for you to produce enough to make up the shortfall.

I like this type of "puzzle" game. It is pure resource management in the sense of supply and demand. No worrying about accidentally not getting enough stone for a road, or not having enough food where your villagers die off, just pure optimization.

The Purest City Builder This game is like the raw distillation of a city builder/management sim. While its graphics are intentionally minimalist, playing it long enough, you start to feel thankful for how easy it makes it to get stuck in the resource management loop. You start to concern yourself with designing the most efficient city, and making each of the systems click together perfectly. Ignore the minimalist aesthetic. There is a direct pureness to the gameplay here.

I am also Mixed on this game. It needs more work and more features. Having only one entrance end exit for each building tile makes it more prone to traffic. Roads are single item and you cannot dictate which way the road goes. My Big Water Pumps pick up food from way across the map instead of the local cache I have next to it. Deleted roads and highways tend to still be rendered and after so much activity on a world, buildings just stop, despite demand for their stockpile they have crafted and waiting. I really want a blueprint option in this game, so we can set up highway systems and copy that design to paste side by side, we can colab and share blueprints. Or an move tool to pic up or slide buildings that have been built, instead of delete and rebuild. Planning tools to see if we can fit the building in the space we got left. Besides my petty bickering, I have been enjoying it. It's casual challenge and with your own resources being the only opposition, keeping those in balance can be a task. You almost got it, just a few more bug fixes and maybe open to the modders for extended content?

I’m mixed on the game overall. While I really enjoy playing it, I feel like it still needs quite a bit of development before I could confidently recommend it or call it truly “fun”. Road construction currently I find is kind of clunky in the game and could be greatly improved, I also don't like how the people can only run around a single resource and then once it gets to the intersections they can get destroyed if there’s too much traffic. I wish you could upgrade the roads and stop this from happening, I wish there was a way to upgrade roads to prevent this from happening, or to allow for faster transport on standard roads instead of relying solely on highways as they come with their own issues as well. Something that could improve the flow may be to add more control over how resources are moved from production site, to storage, to buildings that require that resource, maybe like some sort of direction signals system / some sort of transport priorities system. Another problem I’ve found is that later on, to meet the level requirements, you often need to restart a lot of your settlement’s progress just to refine how resources are managed. What starts as a laid back, relaxing experience early in each level can become a frustrating nightmare as you try to rework everything to keep up with the demands. Overall, I think the game has a lot of potential, but improvements to road systems, resource transport, and late-game management would go a long way toward making it consistently enjoyable. Also, I only just saw, by looking at the game’s screenshots that trains can go over paths, which I had no idea about since it’s never explained anywhere in the game. I guess it should be a given since that’s how it works in real life, but a better explanation of certain mechanics and features would really help, and could be something to add in a future update as well!
