Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 4 is a simulation-leaning motocross title that represents Milestone S.r.l.’s continued effort to translate the intensity and technical nuance of professional supercross into an interactive format. Developed and published by Milestone S.r.l., this fourth main entry builds upon the studio’s established foundation by refining handling physics, expanding career progression, and deepening customization systems, while remaining firmly rooted in the officially licensed Monster Energy Supercross Championship. Rather than reinventing the series, it focuses on iteration and depth, aiming to reward players who are willing to invest time into mastering its demanding mechanics. The heart of the experience lies in its career mode, which offers a structured journey through the competitive ranks of professional supercross. Players begin in entry-level classes, gradually earning their way into the premier 450SX category through consistent performance and skill development. Progression is not merely cosmetic; rider growth is tied to a skill tree that influences handling, speed, and control, making long-term improvement feel earned rather than automatic. Training sessions, special events, and sponsor objectives add texture to the career, encouraging players to balance race results with off-track development in order to stay competitive. On the track, Supercross 4 emphasizes precision and rhythm over brute speed. Bike handling demands careful throttle control, accurate body positioning, and well-timed jumps, with mistakes often compounding quickly due to the tight stadium layouts and unforgiving terrain. Tracks are designed to mirror their real-world counterparts, complete with ruts, whoops, and jump combinations that reward players who learn optimal lines and pacing. While the game includes tutorials, much of the learning curve comes from hands-on experience, as advanced techniques such as scrubbing and rhythm section optimization are best mastered through repetition rather than instruction. Visually, the game opts for clarity and consistency rather than spectacle. Stadiums and tracks are clearly defined, allowing players to read terrain changes and obstacles even at high speeds. Bike models and rider animations are detailed enough to convey motion and impact, though crowd detail and environmental variety can feel restrained. The presentation serves the gameplay well, prioritizing responsiveness and readability over dramatic flair. Audio design complements this approach, with convincing engine sounds and race ambiance that reinforce the sense of competition without overwhelming the player. Customization is a major component of Supercross 4’s appeal. With a wide range of officially licensed bikes, gear, and sponsors, players can tailor both their rider’s appearance and their machine’s setup. The track editor further extends longevity by allowing players to design, test, and share custom circuits, offering a creative outlet beyond standard races. This feature adds replay value, especially for players who enjoy experimenting with layouts or challenging themselves on unconventional track designs. Multiplayer options provide additional variety, supporting both local and online competition. Racing against other players highlights the game’s physics and track design, as human opponents often exploit lines and strategies that AI racers do not. However, online population levels can vary, particularly on PC, meaning that competitive multiplayer may feel inconsistent depending on timing and region. For solo players, time trials and championships offer structured challenges that emphasize incremental improvement and leaderboard chasing. Community reception reflects the game’s simulation-heavy design philosophy. Players who enjoy realistic racing and are willing to accept a steep learning curve often praise the depth and authenticity of the experience. Others find the handling unforgiving and the onboarding insufficient, especially compared to more arcade-oriented racers. These mixed responses underline the game’s niche appeal: it is designed primarily for fans of supercross and simulation racing rather than casual players seeking immediate gratification. Ultimately, Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 4 succeeds as a focused, skill-driven motocross simulation that rewards dedication and technical mastery. While it may not dazzle with presentation or radically new features, it offers a robust and authentic interpretation of professional supercross racing. For players willing to invest time into learning its mechanics and embracing its demanding tracks, it delivers a satisfying and immersive motorsport experience that captures the discipline’s precision, intensity, and rhythm. just like most motorcross games its alot of fun. just my typical gripes with any super cross games. the ai never go down and they stay bunched up. no verriety to them so once you are in the back from going down once its not 1v1 position battle its the whole feild vs you. still a fun game but if you aint out front you just get crashed out to keep you in the back the ai have a line and if your in it youll be the downd rider they just keep going. just annoying . still a fun game just wish oneday the game creators would make it more realistic with laper flags and not the whole feild in one spot and ai going down every once in a while.

1 of my favorite parts is the training grounds, where the AI will run you out of bounds before handing you the controls and disqualify you. Legendary!

This title gets a lot of bad reviews, but there's a reason for that. The game requires an investment of time and effort. You will NOT jump in with the default setups (atrocious) and start winning races. Starting out, you are a limp noodle flounder and a hazard to navigation for the other riders. To become competitive, you MUST: 1. Play the career mode. You will earn skill points that greatly improve your rider. 2. Learn to do setups. This is essential. The default setups were intended for showroom stability, NOT racing. A good setup, appropriate to the track makes a gigantic difference in this game. 3. Spend the credits that you earn to upgrade your bike. Prioritize suspension, tires, rims, exhaust and brakes. You can do the more cosmetic stuff later. Upgrade the big performance items first. Starting out, you're going to lose races. Lots of them. The game is built that way. This is not SX1, SX2, or SX3. You'll have to earn your way to the podium by racing in career mode and upgrading your skills, learning to do setups, and upgrading your bike. But it won't take too long. Be patient. Otherwise, you will forever remain a limp noodle flounder, hazarding the lives of everyone on the track as you convulsively try to complete a full circuit without falling. And who wants to be a flounder? Do the work. It pays off big. You've got to pay your dues if you want to sing the blues, and you know it don't come easy. But it won't take too long, and then you'll be crushing the competition on tracks where you could barely complete a lap when you started. This is an outstanding title if you have patience and you're willing to put in the laps and effort. The first time you win a race, you'll feel a major sense of accomplishment. If you need help with setups, consult DeepSeek AI, Grok, ChatGPT or one of those. They can help you learn to do decent setups. But if you're a rage quitter who wants instant gratification, this ain't it. You'll be very frustrated. I like it, and I have put in the effort. I therefore HIGHLY recommend Monster Energy Supercross 4. I own the entire series, and #4 is one of my favorites, despite the initial difficulty. Catch it on sale, and you'll snag a great bargain!
