Idk why this game is called souls-like to be fair. Like it has bonfires, and enemies revives upon resting but you dont lose anything upon death, you have maps (static, and you still need to find them but anyway). Shorcuts in the game closer to skyrim dungeouns, where at the very end you can return to the start. Aestetics of the game feels like something in between of Blasphemous and Bloodbourne, with all those "living flesh" parasites. But at the same time some mechanics are somewhat broken (like stealth, the enemies are literally blind and deaf in this game) and hitboxes - melee long reach weapon just carries through the game at early stages as a breeze. No need to learn parry timings if you oneshot or at best two-shot everything except bosses... Good: + visual design is good, enemies look repulsive in a good way, simple, but disgusting xD + balanced builds (you can build a giant dad (but beware that there is no poise here), or smth close to oroboro, or go heavy range dmg, but just closer to the end) Questionable: ~ you can teleport between bonfires/altars right away (for a kinda small game, 10-12 hours give or take this made it even faster) ~ balance issues - does this game really need stealth? ~ the roll is just too OP. I dont know how many iframes it gives but its A LOT. And you always fastroll here. Also no punishment for faling timing or recovery damage. Same goes for running - you outrun everything with speed x3 of mobs, spending little to no stamina and can always kite, and there are no enemies in the game that can keep such pace ~ the game has multiple enemental damage types but they are only numbers (im not even sure if different enemies have different resistances and to be fair I dont care to test - got 1 rune of each damage type for a 4 slot weapon and killed everything), also there are not critical effects (like fire gives dot damage, or more effective vs flesh compare to armor, idk) Bad: - WEEEEEAK boss fights (for me only 2 out of 10 bosses delivered). The fights are just the same, and many bosses have like 3-4 attacks - 1-2 melee, 1 range and 1-2 aoe, sometimes lacking in 1 or even 2 departments. For example Lorn the Blind has 2 melee attacks and charge, which you dont even need to dodge or parry, he is basically a fat regular enemy. My suggestion - if the Lorn is blind - why would he needed light? and if you fight him in a cave, make it very dark, so he will attack you from blind zones and you would need to listen to his steps/grouling/react on time... - death does not punish the player. You lose nothing. - very simple enemies. Most of them just can hit you in melee, AOE and range attacks are very rare, the skill ceiling is kinda low (esp. if you use a long reach weapon to just oneshot everything except bosses) - bad implementation of attack patterns - a lot of enemies only attack on the horizontal axis, which makes defeating them trivial, flanking and attacking from top or bottom, especially if they have no range attacks and aoe abilities In total that was the friendliest and most casual "soulslike" I ever played, and it was even closer to an ARPG, and its not even bad. It is fast pased so you dont get bored, some bosses are nice (the final one is great and the concent hall one is very good too), but the game lacks identity. It tries to copy darksouls with the layout, fighting, even items, but lacks unique mechanics (the sanity gimmick was not enough for me). I would say if you like the genre, and have some spare time and money you can buy it on discount to try it out, but if you skip it, you wont lose anything serious. Borderline recommended (the last boss was a decision maker)

Mid soulslike. Barely any lore or narrative, sloppy combat, and generic/bland exploration and mechanics. The vibes and asthetics of some areas are cool, I must say. I'm just giving it a positive reviews because Its still entertaining though, and you will probably like it if you liked titles like Salt and Sanctuary or Blasphemous. Since its a rather short game, it doesn't feel like a drag to play, because even though the gameplay is not anything special, you can play through it rather fast (6-10 hours). I just don't think it's worth 25€/$, so if you want to grab it, do so during a Steam sale.

Great bosses, good music, overall fun game since we are all waiting on that Bloodborne PC port. Gameplay is fun and actually simple. Dodge, attack, occasionally shoot. Not much variety but it works. The maps are simple enough but you can only view them at save points. The steam screenshot feature helps get around this limitation. At least we have maps, although you will most likely get lost constantly before finding them and I think this was by design. A big issue here are the weapons. Most are simple and almost completely the same. The stats don't really tell the player much allowing you to experiment with runes a bit. Runes are little accessories you equip to weapons instead of upgrading them at a blacksmith. There is a red sword that is just better than the rest but it loses you sanity. You can get around this with Sanity Drain runes. Most weapons are either useless or very good. Keep in mind you also don't level the character themselves, until you beat the first acolyte. So the beginning of the game I found harder than the endgame. A solid 10 hours experience.
