I've played a lot of horror games in my life, absolute favorite genre of games by far. This game is 100% without a doubt in my top 3 games of all time. The more you play and the more you figure out, the more terrifying it becomes. Starts off just being mildly unsettling, and takes you on a wild ride that ends with being the most visually distorted, mindfking digital nightmare. This is one of the few games that I just cannot stop thinking about after finishing the game multiple times in different ways (watch a couple playthroughs only to the point where you make a different decision and let the rest be mystery!). I am so unbelievably excited to see more from this game studio! Please make sure when you play this and beat it, to play the demo and access the second version Mothered: Home. I cannot recommend this game enough to anyone who enjoys horror!!!

Such a good atmosphere and premise. Great sound design, great twists and turns, beautifully eerie, and rewards you VERY nicely for paying close attention and exploring. Honestly, what a gem.

Actually depressing. I don't know how to explain it, but this game made me feel bad, like actually devasted. I'm not really familiar with the lore of the other games in the trilogy so this was a complete new experience, and i have to say, "Mothered: A Role-Playing Horror Game" is one of the best horror games i've ever played. The horror is not really on the "Scary/on your face" side (despite having some chilling moments), but on the existencial dread side. I felt like a lost child in a mall, but the mall doens't really exist, my mother isn't even really my mother, and i'm not even a child (IFYKYK). Also, the aesthetics are amazing, despite being kind of low poly, everything just feels so realistic in a way, really immersive. The art direction is just so fcking good!!!!! I love it. Really looking forward to playing the rest of the trilogy! ps: I also played the "secret" Sequel, "Mothered: Home", and everything i said about the first game still stands!! Even more surreal and Uncanny, i can't help it but praise the developer for it. All of it made me think about the amazing artist David Lynch, i feel like he would love this (David i miss you, hope you're doing well in heaven, if it exists).

Bringing the Uncanny Valley to Life MOTHERED is one of the most uniquely unsettling games I’ve ever played. From the very beginning, it creates a deeply atmospheric mood through its deliberately blurred visuals and sparse, yet powerfully thunderous music. It doesn’t creep in — it hits hard, suddenly and without warning, perfectly timed to jolt you out of any sense of comfort. The whole concept and setting feel thoughtfully put together. There’s a quiet precision to everything — every object, every silence, every strange moment seems to serve a purpose. The game never explains too much at first, which only adds to the tension and mystery. What truly stands out are the characters, especially the "mother." She’s a perfect example of the uncanny valley — visually off, almost puppet-like, and emotionally dissonant. Her appearance alone raises questions, but then she speaks with oddly sincere, even loving lines, as if she genuinely cares. It’s deeply unsettling. You’re constantly torn between suspicion and empathy. Her stiff, sometimes jerky movements paired with cold, contradictory statements make for a haunting presence. The discomfort never fades — it just shifts, grows, evolves. I’ve never played a game that maintains that uncanny tension so consistently and convincingly. I won’t give away any spoilers here, because MOTHERED is best experienced with as little prior knowledge as possible. 10/10 – An unsettling horror game that tells its story in its own strange way and stays with you long after. Every fan of psychological horror should play this.
