The dev created a mobile game with a bunch of ads and in-app purchases, then removed it all and made a steam game. Smart move. Great relaxing game.

It's a nice game to play in split-screen co-op while chilling, talking about something else or possibly eating and drinking. It's simple, repetitive and grindy in an acceptable way. "Pro" tip The game allows you to unlock character skins via promo codes. Go to settings and you'll see the option to enter codes. Here are some: [*]S1lentSt3ps [*]I<3Min1ng [*]Svrf&J4ws

This is literally those mobile apps you see in the ads, but like… the actual thing. And no ads. Yeah it’s grindy, but it’s super chill.

One of those rare instances where I'm actually loving having a mobile game on PC. To be clear, it's not a direct port, it feels like it was rebuilt for PC, but still, the core gameplay loop is mostly unchanged. It scratches the itch of giving my hands something to do while I listen to an audiobook without the ads

Welp... There it is; beat the game. I actually had a lot of fun playing this, unlike when I tried to play it on mobile. I can't remember what all kind of time-locked crap the mobile version had, or microtransactions or just whatever... I really can't remember. I just remember starting to play, thinking it was really cool, then ultimately just thinking, "Nah." and quitting. As a PC game with no limits, it was an absolute blast. Now, I'll warn anyone who will listen: this is kind of a grind game. Luckily for me, I LOVE grind games.. but I know that some people don't, so figured I should drop that here. I'm not saying it's grindy to the point of stupidity, but you WILL essentially be doing the same things over and over, just in different locations. It is nevertheless kept very fun by allowing you to harvest a large variety of resources, fight all kinds of different enemies, do tons of weapon/tool upgrades, find secrets, and more. Idea's pretty simple. You're this little guy with a sword, pickaxe, and axe. You go around harvesting resources - using your pickaxe to break apart solid resources like rock and stone (couldn't resist), chopping down trees and other things with the axe, and killing enemies/harvesting grass-like resources with the sword. You then approach tiles which are meant to be constructed and deposit the resources to construct that tile. (For example, there might be a giant hole in your way, and it takes a certain number of stone resources to build the missing tile filling in the hole). Along the way you 'build' entire little worlds, almost like you're building.. you know.. a 'little universe.' You'll fight enemies and bosses, upgrade your stuff, find hidden secrets, unlock costumes, and more. Again... it's VERY straight-forward, but I still think most people would have at the very least a decent time playing it. It's made extra fun by the wealth of resources to be collected and crafted,, the huge number of enemies, varied bosses, and tons of upgrades. This is one of those games where you will ALWAYS be making 'progress' of some kind or another. The challenge level is not severe. There are a few parts where I may have died a few times, but let's be real: most of this game is pretty easy to get through; the length of the game comes from the sheer amount of stuff to 'do' rather than dying over and over at the same places. In fact, most of the bosses were pretty simple to beat once you really get the hang of the game mechanics. You will very likely work harder at gathering the number of needed resources rather than the actual execution of the game. Graphics are simple but they fit the theme. There are a fair number of songs; I wouldn't say they are groundbreaking, but they also fit the theme very well and were not annoying. Sound effects were decent, mechanics were very simple and almost never found myself 'stuck' anywhere, so I would not call this game 'buggy' at all. It is just a very straight-forward, easy-to-play, nice lengthy game. Overall, for someone like me, this was a very fun one to beat. I wouldn't call it the most fantastic experience of my life, but it addicted me enough that I kept at it until it was done. Very solid. Worth full price? eh, for the amount of playtime I got out of it, I'm going to go ahead and say 'yes.' I certainly didn't feel cheated. Although the entire point is gather resources/build tiles, gather resources/build tiles, fight monster and upgrade tools, gather resources/build tiles, it didn't feel too 'padded,' again because of the variety along the way. So I'm going to go ahead and say yes, probably worth full price - though of course if you're uncertain, you can always wishlist as the game goes on sale every once in a while. Overall a lot of fun and glad I pulled the trigger on this one.
