It's a very interesting twist on deck-building that that might soon become a new subgenre. Instead of adding or removing cards from your deck, you add advancements that change the cards you already have. Your deck is always exactly 20 cards, but most of them start very weak---some start literally blank, though the mechanics for drawing your hand ensure that blank cards aren't a major hindrance. Expansions add a bunch of new cards as well as some new mechanics. The press-your-luck drawing system and the advancements make for a very fresh new experience that's well worth the price. It does have some balance issues: Some cards seem wildly overpowered, especially if you play the longest duration option. It can definitely happen that another player drafts a really powerful card and then just steamroll you from then on.

I haven't played the physical version of this boardgame but now I am considering buying it - MV is a surprisingly good, pleasing, and fit-for-all game with ecological theme. Awesome art and presentation, well fitting music. I bought the smartphone app too

It took me a while to get all the nuances but I am totally addicted now. I recommend getting the expansions, but maybe only use them once you have the base game sorted
