The game ended up being a lot more difficult than I expected it to be,especially the DLC levels (namely the 6th and 8th level). The game requires following movement with the rhytm, finding hidden objects and being fast enough to get all the achievements. The level design is mostly well-made,if not a bit annoying at times (for example, during the last minute of the 8th level when the elevator drops you into a upward-platforming section you have to be in the middle of the elevator and not press any buttons to safely land on the first platform, which took me several dozen attempts to realize,as the player is usually used to moving their cube to the right side of the elevator to progress through the level a bit faster),the music chosen for the levels are fantastic and the level select screen is easy to navigate through. I would appreciate a disclaimer in the 'about this game' section which mentions needing 'A Bit Further' DLC to get most of the avalaible achievements,as I only found out about that after I beat the first 3 levels and had to to buy steam funds later to progress further + a warning that your saves don't transfer to other computers - I played levels 5+6 on my 2nd PC and found that the lv5+6 saves didn't transfer to my first PC. Adding a cloudsave option would be great. The game itself is a solid 8/10 in my opinion,a lot more difficult than I'm used to :D

I really enjoyed this game with it's incredible music and immersive gameplay. One major flaw is the length, I have replayed this about 6 times to extend it but realistically the entire game can be completed in 20-30 minutes. Even less for someone experienced with rhythm games. It has a lot of potential but needs more levels to fit that potential.

Neon Beats β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… Neon Beats is a short rhythm platformer with memorable levels. The base game is free and has 3 tracks, the dlc complements this interactive album with 5 more, every aspect of a level follows a satisfying sync with its song, despite that, levels still accommodate secrets, alternate routes, and different player strategies, the game constantly introduces new mechanics and requires the sharpening of old ones, always preparing you for the next stage, all 8 electronic songs have their progression tied to the player’s advancements through it, acknowledging the players movements, and that is what make those perfect runs so fun and satisfying to grind, no deaths, every secret, done quickly, and with a good sense of rhythm.

Game's great. Highly recommend playing it, paying $2 for the extra levels, and paying another $2 for the soundtrack. It's super short, but priced accordingly, and if you like the game you can speedrun it!
