[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43083373/]Clever games curator review: 5/10 . A rather scattered horror game somewhat in the vein of Layers of Fear, but with fewer jump scares and more puzzles, some logic, some find the object(s). The most difficult parts involve having to solve the logic puzzles while someone is chasing you, which really ramps up the difficulty, and for me ramps down the enjoyment. At least you don’t lose any progress when you are caught & die; you are just forced to navigate a 15-second maze to get back. Which is good because when you pop out of the maze there’s a decent chance it will be in the same location where the killer is and you'll have to do it all over again 1 second later. Ugh. The object puzzles are standard video game fare. EG find all of the things you need to light a fire in the fireplace. Deep Stuff, and Entirely Relevant to the storyline. This part was somewhat buggy at least for me, with some of the objects refusing to let me pick them up and move them more than a foot. Luckily restarting the game fixed this bug. I suspect that the relatively high number of positive reviews has something to do with the storyline. While it is interesting, I find it rather clumsily told, and honestly it feels a bit like it was tacked on after the game was mostly finished. A lot of the gameplay seems to be fairly irrelevant to the main plot. Even with that criticism, however, the story is better than in a lot of these sorts of games. In the end, I can’t really recommend this unless you enjoy solving puzzles while being chased. That aspect of the game is only about a third of the time I spent in it, but it was easily the most frustrating part. If what is frustrating to me sounds appealing to you, then I think this game is decent, especially on sale. However, I do not come away feeling like it was a very good use of my time, even if it had been free.

Fear is not always born from the outside. It seeps in through the cracks of breath and memory. Breathing grows shallow, and the corridor stretches endlessly.

A Psychological Horror That Gets Under Your Skin Score: 7/10 It's the kind that slowly, quietly, and completely messes with your head, along with some good jump scares. You play as a little girl named Sasha, and the atmosphere is just so unsettling, in the right way. The whole game feels silent and eerie, and the story unfolds through these really abstract, puzzle-like memories. I would say the story is good enough, but the puzzles do take over it. Concept is great! The way it uses atmosphere and sound to build tension is a masterclass in creepy. It's not a super-long game. Took around 7.5 hours to 100%. Now, a heads-up: this game is pretty abstract. If you need everything to make perfect logical sense from the start, you might get a little lost, and honestly, some of the puzzles can feel like a lot to handle [mirror one for me]. It also doesn't really hold your hand, which can be a little frustrating. But if you can just let the story and the mood wash over you, it’s a good experience. What I didn't like: Controls are not smooth, especially on the keyboard and mouse, as I had to repeatedly drag things a lot for the action to get triggered, which was extremely annoying. Plus, there is no chapter replay system, which makes the missed achievements a pain to get, as you have to play the whole game again. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers, eerie atmospheres, and puzzles that make you think, you should give this a try. If you don't like challenging puzzles at all, then you should skip this one.

Never Again is a beautifully haunting psychological horror game that goes far beyond cheap jump scares. With its deeply emotional story, stunning atmosphere, and thought-provoking symbolism, it delivers an unforgettable experience that lingers long after the game ends. You play as Sasha, a 13-year-old girl struggling with asthma and waking up in an empty, terrifying world. As you explore the eerie house and unravel the story piece by piece, you realize this isn't just a horror game—it's a deeply personal journey through fear, trauma, and the fragility of the human mind. The game masterfully blends environmental storytelling with surreal, dream-like visuals to reflect Sasha’s inner struggles. The anxiety attacks, the mysterious puzzles, and the constantly shifting reality all serve to immerse the player in a world where nothing is safe—and nothing is as it seems. What makes Never Again stand out is its emotional weight. It doesn’t just scare you—it makes you feel. The voice acting and soundtrack are minimal but effective, adding to the overall sense of isolation and dread. In the end, Never Again is more than a horror game. It’s a meaningful story about growing up with trauma, feeling lost, and searching for hope. A hidden indie gem that deserves far more recognition.
