I'm left so conflicted and deeply unsettled with how this game ended. I need a cozy blanket, tea, and my cat to soothe my soul. I jumped into Never Again completely blind after it sat on my playlist for a long time. It isn't scary or traditional horror, but it gives off a heavy, eerie feel where you just know something isn't right. **Environmental Storytelling: Spotting subtle clues around the house to piece together the year and where the narrative was heading was good.**The Mirror Puzzle: I was definitely annoyed by the level where I had to mess with the mirrors, man, that took me way too long to figure out. So parts of this game was extremely frustrating but the over all story makes it worth it **Story: You play as a little girl who "wakes up" with boarded-up windows and a missing family, stuck in a nightmare. When you finally realize what's happening at the end, it's very sad. It shines a light on a real, dark past, and the psychological trauma Sasha experiences is painfully relatable for those who survived that time or never made it through. If you aren't an empath, go ahead and play it it's worth it. But if you are one, be prepared for the ending and have a warm cup of tea and a cat/pupper waiting to comfort you. 4/5
Wow. This was a very deep story in my opinion! Well done, team. The music and ambience are great. Graphics are very realistic. I am glad the game was NOT a walking sim; the puzzles and gameplay were never too hard. I am really surprised at how well this indie game is. Only disappointment was that my Dualsense (PS5) controller wasn't fully supported, so I had to play on keyboard and mouse, which is fine but it wasn't my first choice for this game.
