It seems like this game got some bad press a while back because of some exaggerated internet drama that doesn't really come to anything. It's a shame because this game deserves a much higher rating, and people who don't know any of the background might be put off. I can say as someone who's coming to this experience several years on, that this game is definitely worth the money. It's charming and fun, full of personality, and I'm excited to play more. There are a couple of little things that could be better- the fact that you can put things on a hotbar but can't use them outside of farming mode (without going into your inventory) seems like an oversight, and it'd be nice to have more ways to bond and build friendship with your ooblets. But overall I think anyone who's on the fence about this one should definitely try it.

It's the "Pokémon" game I've always wanted. It's casual and cute. Your little guys follow you around. There's no intense strategy. There's farming and decorating. Your little guys help you farm. The special oobs are special but not super impossible to get. You can even see at the start of the day what oobs will be around so you don't have to worry about missing something special... unless maybe you've just started the game and don't realise that the oob sat in front of you is a super special gleamy one. Oops. But hey I actually feel like I could find that oob again rather than writing off that whole part of the game as a waste of time and energy. And all I need to do to find it is wait. No grinding. No searching. Just keep some salad in my chest and wait for the daily oob to show that zippy blue rabbity thing again. I'm enjoying the oob life so far and I'm really excited to see where it goes in the future. I would really love to see another game at some point which incorporates some more aspects of great cosy games and builds on this experience. It's just a silly, fun game. You can kill time without killing your brain. It doesn't match up to a full Pokémon game or whatever other big games are out there. And that's kinda the whole point. This is a game I can actually just play. No stress. No planning. Just goofy little guys dancing out their conflicts and wearing silly hats. I'd say it also seems to be priced appropriately for the experience. I'm playing on steam deck with no issues. Controls all work with no set up. Plays just fine with no visual issues or lag.

I love this game, not really any complaints, it was made to be a feel good easy to complete game and it accomplishes that perfectly. Some notes for the developers, since i cant find a better way to report problems. -when you hit save and quit in an area where you cant save, it still quits the game -Itd be nice to modify your base deck Other than that, great and well balanced game, maybe even too easy

every time my player character goes "bidoo?" in a little baby voice, i become richer in spirit. such a fantastic little game. so much charm and humor, and a lot of satisfying minor things. the dance battles are great, i love how unstoppable i am. i'd normally hate moving slow because of a lack of stamina but trudging around the town with z's floating out of my body is hilarious. save the ooblets!

If you have ADHD and need a good, calm and wholesome game, this is for you! Even after the story ends, the game still remains! If Pokemon, Stardew Valley and Fae Farm had a love child, this is that game. Farming that grinds but isn't too intricate? Check. Cook-crafting that has recipes that vary from easy to hard? Check. Catching tiny mindless companions by beating them in a card-based dance battle? Check. Daily conversation with NPC's that doesn't feel forced but is necessary for completion? Check. It took me around 40HRs total to complete the game but when I tell you I dillyed, I also dallied. I was blessed with incredible RNG for the crafting-trading system and my husband who also plays the game was incredibly surprised by my luck. Not only did I make bank but I also got two shiny Ooblets within around 20HRs of game play. This being said, at 3 evolutions per Ooblet, you're looking at more than likely 100+ hours of shiny hunting. Oh you can also fish, but not for fish, you get garbage out of the sea and use it as resources for either A. more bait or B. crafting materials. Did I mention you have style options for you character, hair options, house furnishing and upgrading and the list goes on! Seriously, the price is worth it and very generous for a multi-layered game that soothes the savage beast inside. TL;DR, Buy it, is good game. Add to wish list, wait for sale, you wont regret it.
