Very enjoyable game, this may be my new favourite chill place. If the devs are watching, there are a couple of things which could improve the game in my opinion: - Give more debuffs during night time. -- The current debuffs aren't sufficient to put people (or me) off just farming up materials, they are off putting for sure but manageable especially when night time doesn't have a time limit. - Make cutting through pipes/power lines more impactful. -- At present it doesn't really do anything if you cut through a cable/pipe other than give you a bit of a shock. Potentially being fined for damaging the grid via cutting an electricity pipe or being knocked out by gas from a pipe for 15-20 seconds would be enough to make people avoid them fully.

A fun game that could do with a few improvements I went into this game completely blind. I hadn't watched any trailers or looked at any screenshots. Nothing. Yet I decided to buy it, and I ended up spending my time well and thoroughly enjoying it. Ore Factory Squad is a game where you start with a small factory and a single crushing machine. It is up to you and up to three other players to turn it into a prosperous operation. How my game played out During my playthrough, I loved setting up my factory, buying land to mine for resources, and driving my truck back and forth between the work site and the factory. I started a public game and, before long, my lobby was full with three other players. They handled most of the mining while I transported resources back and forth. I set up the factory and filled it with machines to produce the goods required for the contracts I accepted. You can even negotiate contracts to get a better price for your goods. Before I knew it, a few hours had passed, yet it felt like only a few minutes. As you progress, you unlock new machines. Eventually, customers stop asking for raw resources or simple products like sand and limestone blocks. Instead, they begin requesting metal ingots and even machinery parts. It is up to you to earn enough money to purchase the licences and resources needed for these more complex orders. To make things easier, you can set up conveyor belts to automate your factory and even hire robot workers to move pallets of goods around for you. They'll even help load delivery trucks. The bad, but not too much Unfortunately, as with all video games, there are a few things that could be improved. The biggest issue is that the game is vulnerable to trolls. Players can join your session, spend all of your money, and even take out loans just to ruin your game. Ore Factory Squad currently doesn't offer any player permission settings to prevent this. There is a kick option, however, so if someone starts causing trouble, you can remove them and hopefully that will be the end of it. Another very minor issue and one that admittedly won't matter to everyone is that bronze and steel can be mined as ores. In reality, bronze and steel are man-made alloys, so they would never naturally occur underground. I think it would make more sense if they had to be manufactured in your factory instead. Finally, the game includes voice chat but no text chat. I think adding text chat would be a great quality-of-life improvement, as not everyone has a microphone or feels comfortable speaking to strangers online. Conclusion At £11.75, I think Ore Factory Squad is well worth the asking price. It can feel a little tedious when playing solo, but with friends or even a group of well-behaved strangers it becomes a fun and rewarding experience where you build your own mining and manufacturing business, gradually producing more advanced goods and automating your entire operation. It also looks like the developers are committed to supporting the game with future updates, much like they have with their other title, Zombie Graveyard Simulator, which is another enjoyable game. Personally, I recommend it. Jump in!

Mechanically I enjoy it. There are some questionable choices, like how when driving to the mining site it goes through a loading screen and then drops you directly next to the property while maintaining forward momentum, but the thing that gets me is the presence of STEEL and BRONZE as ores in the game. How in the hell are you supposed to have "Steel Ore" that's the dumbest thing I've seen all week. Steel is an alloy, it has to be manufactured, you don't dig it out of the ground! My immersion is broken and my day is ruined.
