This short story is not a complex, sophisticated masterpiece. Indeed, it is quite predictable, uses "cheap" tricks to make you emotional, and you know pretty much everything about the characters after the first 30 minutes (although, with some notable exceptions). However, it's clear to me that none of this is the aim of this visual novel. Instead, It is laser focused on dialogue and character interactions, and I believe it greatly succeeds at this, aided by the aptly placed melancholic music. This is best exemplified by the two core scenes of this story: the "special projection", and the ending. The aforementioned strengths are put together to produce some really compelling, beautiful moments that will get you feeling something , even if it isn't sadness. I thus still recommend experiencing this visual novel. 7/10
In a world devoid of joy, walking through days empty of emotion, with nothing but the desire to survive another day, a cynical scavenger arrives at the Planetarium. Here, he meets Yumemi, an android girl with robotic soul purer than any human's. Circumstances bind them together in cooperation, that blossoms into friendship. Once again, Key has created a novel that leaves a lasting impression on a person and it won't be just tears. Yumemi's stories are beautiful, full of longing, and accompanied by a gorgeous soundtrack. The entire experience may be short, but it is incredibly powerful. ... and so I'm proud to have been here, "Okyaku-sama."
For over fifteen years, I have actively avoided this game because I knew. I knew what it would do to me. Today, on the Sixth day of the Sixth Month of the year of our Lord, 2026... I picked it up. And it did exactly what I figured it would do. It's a beautiful story. Fitting for our time. Maybe more so now than in the mid-2000s.
