I Have been playing this with my son for 11 years, 1500 hours clocked. I am in my 50s he is in his 20s. We have had so much fun. Each new release adds and modernizes. Each release balances. There is an active mod community. This is a constantly evolving game that is perfect for the strategy seeker. Not only is this a fun game to play single player VS computer (which has a lot of specialized difficulty tiers) it is has options for co-op and PVP ranked plus a new Galactic War (which I have not explored because I love the OG game play). The developers really had the serious gamer in mind when developing. Features like automatic game play recording and review, detailed game play stats plotted on a second by second progress chart PLUS the ability to rewind a player vs computer game and replay from any point in the game is soooo beyond any game of it’s type. It has helped me review turning points in game play and develop new strategies. My analytic brain is in heaven when I plan and review!!! Plus I can keep up with my son this way.
I though the game was dying, by dying i meant the devs were going to forget about it but damn i was wrong, i just came back after leaving it for 4 months and the game has been updated a lot, coop campaing, they overhauled the menu. Its just so good to see the game getting this kind of updates. I totally recommend this game even tho the servers are almost dead, its just a nice game and if you got friends to play with its event better. For me its a 9/10 the gameplay its original and feels good, it even supports mods if you get tired of seeing the same units all the time. I 100% recommend getting the came, probably not offsale but right now with the 50% discount i think its a good investment. Also its very well optimized.
