Pool Cleaning Simulator is a methodical, satisfaction-driven simulation that leans into the oddly compelling pleasure of restoring order to neglected spaces, one tile and filter at a time. Developed by Rubens Games in collaboration with FreeMind S.A. and published by FreeMind S.A. alongside PlayWay S.A., the game places players in a first-person role as a professional pool cleaner tackling jobs that range from ordinary backyard pools to increasingly eccentric aquatic locations. Rather than chasing adrenaline or narrative twists, it commits fully to a slow, tactile loop built around preparation, process, and visible transformation. Each job begins with practical planning. Players stock their vehicle with tools suited to the task ahead—pressure washers, brushes, vacuums, chemical testers, chlorine, nets, and other maintenance essentials—before heading on site. This setup reinforces the game’s grounded approach: success comes from using the right tool at the right moment, not from improvisation or speed. Once on location, the workflow unfolds in deliberate stages: draining water, removing debris, scrubbing surfaces, rinsing grime away, rebalancing water chemistry, and refilling the pool to a safe, inviting state. The step-by-step cadence is the core appeal, and the game takes care to make each phase feel necessary to the whole. The strongest moments come from the before-and-after contrast. Murky water clears, stained tiles brighten, and cluttered pool decks return to order, delivering a clear sense of accomplishment that fuels the “just one more job” mindset common to cleanliness-focused simulators. The visual language is functional and readable, prioritizing clarity over spectacle, and the transformation is usually obvious and gratifying. That said, the presentation can occasionally undermine itself: dirt and residue aren’t always easy to spot on darker materials or in uneven lighting, which can lead to time spent hunting for a single missed patch. Assistive features help, but they don’t always eliminate the friction. Variety is injected through location design and side objectives. While many jobs revolve around familiar residential pools, the game frequently pivots into novelty—commercial facilities, water parks, aquariums, and other unconventional settings—each introducing small twists on the core routine. Optional tasks, such as collecting scattered items or sorting colorful clutter, add texture and personality to the jobs. Sometimes these extras feel charmingly offbeat; other times they veer toward padding, stretching sessions longer than their mechanical depth justifies. Whether these diversions delight or distract largely depends on the player’s tolerance for repetition and their appetite for quirky interruptions. Pacing is intentionally unhurried, and that’s both the game’s greatest strength and its most polarizing trait. Pool Cleaning Simulator is designed to be played calmly, even passively—ideal for players who enjoy zoning out, listening to podcasts, or savoring a steady rhythm of progress. Tool switching, repeated passes over surfaces, and incremental checklists reinforce a meditative flow. For others, the same traits can feel sluggish, especially when combined with back-and-forth trips to swap equipment or unclear indicators of remaining tasks. Long sessions may test patience if you’re looking for variety beyond the central loop. Controls and systems are generally serviceable, though not always elegant. Managing tools is straightforward, but the frequency of swapping can interrupt momentum, and some interactions lack the snap and feedback that would make the work feel smoother. The game doesn’t demand precision or quick reactions; instead, it rewards thoroughness and consistency. Unlocks and progression nudge you forward with new jobs and capabilities, but they’re paced conservatively, keeping the focus on mastery of routine rather than dramatic escalation. Community response reflects this duality. Players who value calm, methodical simulations often praise the relaxing tone and the satisfaction of visible cleanup, while critics point to repetition, occasional obscurity in task completion, and uneven polish. Neither side is wrong—the game makes a clear choice to prioritize process over spectacle, and it succeeds best when approached on those terms. Ultimately, Pool Cleaning Simulator is a niche experience that knows its audience. It’s not trying to be fast, flashy, or narratively rich; it’s about patience, order, and the small joys of restoration. If you’re drawn to simulations that reward care and attention, and you enjoy watching tangible progress unfold at your own pace, it offers a steady, oddly soothing loop. If you crave constant novelty or tight, kinetic gameplay, its charms may wear thin. Taken on its own terms, though, it delivers a distinctive, low-pressure experience that turns an everyday profession into a quietly satisfying digital ritual. Rating: 6/10

Don't typically write reviews but I saw so many negative comments, I had to defend this genuinely good game. I'm really picky when it comes to cleaning games but this one hit the mark. It's got surface cleaning, trash pickup, reorganizing, and puzzles! If anything, my only complaint is that I want more levels and such. It took me about 15 hours to 100% the game and achievements, but frankly that's still worth the price to me (paid full price). Incase you don't trust a random strangers opinion on "good," if you like the cleaning aspects of House Flipper 1 or 2, Crime Scene Cleaner, or Backrooms Cleaner, then you'll like this game too. It took a bit to get used to the controls as you have to actually drag the sponge instead of your typical "shove a mop or sponge at the situation." But there's a power washer if that's not your thing or if you don't like picking up items one at a time, there's a bin you can use to carry a few at a time. Looking at the other reviews, yes, there are bugs... but none that actually affect gameplay. It's more so an object may no-clip if you spawn it in the millimeter between walls and furniture. Otherwise, if it's a genuine game glitch, the game detects objects in places it shouldn't be and will respawn them where they belong. I never encountered any "game breaking glitches," I was always able to complete the level. The 2 times I accidentally spawned items in walls/furniture, I still finished the job but redid it later to get that 100%. This is literally a game with save slots and loads, you can just redo a level if you're encountering any problems... Also there's adorkable rubber duckies <3

It's a little janky at times and I had to reset a few levels because the tasks don't go in the correct order but it's a pretty fun game.

I am a huge fan of power washer and lawn mowing games and felt this one would scratch that same itch of satisfaction. I would say it largely did. Some great tasks, interesting levels, and even a bit of weirdness in the story help make this better. The only complaint I have on this game, is that it seemed a little buggy. Sometimes things would get stuck. I had to restart levels more than once even when about 80% done and that was completely frustrating. This was because some achievements didn't register, or the tasks did not indicate which ones needed to be done first in order to complete the level. But surprisingly, I still enjoyed it.
