It could use some more ironing out, but I find it hard not to like Post Trauma. In spite of the really janky animations, Unreal Engine doing it's thing to make things look like ass, and poor lip-syncing, the absolutely stellar art direction, great use of audio and camerawork, diverse scenarios, pretty good puzzle variety and decent soundtrack raise the overall enjoyment quite a bunch. I do feel the need to mention the story and gameplay is basically a bit of a question mark. Without spoilers, don't expect satisfaction out of it, as while the characters are okay (and I do like unconventional protagonists), I frankly didn't get much out of the overall narrative. I also think the game could have used more combat encounters as you will be woefully unprepared for the boss fights in hard difficulty. The meat of the game is almost exclusively the stellar atmosphere and puzzle solving, and if that's what you want, you'll get exactly that, but I can imagine someone who wished for a better overall package to be left dissapointed. With all this in mind, the lower than usual price point does make it easier for me to recommend the game. I think for a first time dev this is a pretty solid title, and I hope they make more stuff in the future with all the lessons learned from this title.

I don't regret playing it but, not quite horrific overall, there's a lot of good moments still, especially with the soundtrack and voice cast / characters Was still a fun game, but don't go in with high expectations Why is there even a difficulty level setting? I don't know (played on hard) Puzzles aren't really puzzles (for the most part) I played it in fullscreen 1280x720 with other options on high (to avoid crashes) The story is lacking a lot of clarity and background Not enough options for the controls (tank controls would've been fun to have, no possibilities to rebind either) Never really used the dodge mecha and the lock-on is weird (not to mention LB/L1 is useless but still lockon is on Right Stick Button....) Character oftenly lock on things in a weird way (like his whole body bend while in proximity of something you can interact with) and there's other times that he's looking at something for absolutely nothing (probably something that was planned to be an interaction but wasn't used in the end, resulting in being possibly misleading) But again, if you don't mind indies with imperfections, you should still love it, I did enjoy the game overall, but I was expecting more of the story, more of the difficulty setting but in the end, difficulty setting is a bit useless if you ask me But there really is a lack of clarity, like with puzzles, that at some point must have had some logic, but were not backed by any text or riddles thus, becoming a bit uninteresting, so I pretty much found them to be rather straight forward

I have had this game wishlisted for almost 3 years and I really wanted more out of it. While I do give the game an overall positive recommendation, there are some extremely easily fixable things with the game that could make the experience significantly more enjoyable for the average player. POSITIVES: The overall story, while obviously very Silent Hill inspired, had its own take and felt they made it their own. Very beautiful and well crafted environments. The use of the hospital and train station and subsequent mix of the two was a fun well thought out continuation for the story. All of the characters within the game are distinct and have very clear personalities. Most of the puzzles were fun, unique, and were enjoyable to do. NEGATIVES: First of all, knowing the game was delayed multiple times and still seeing the issues it had are the primary reasons for my disappointment, as many of them could have been solved in QA. Subtitles were oddly timed or just incorrect entirely. Had a few bug issues regarding screen loading, interactions, and swapping items in the menu. I had a few issues with camera clipping and going into areas I wasn't supposed to have access to and almost soft locking myself. We weren't given the time to get to know or appreciate the characters we were introduced to and as such, we didn't care about the outcome of what happens to them. This game, despite the delays, ultimately feels unfinished. I would still recommend it as something that is relatively inexpensive and overall pleasant to play, but I REALLY hope the developers spend some time and update and patch the largest impacts to the player experience and make the game run smoothly.

On one hand I’m a voice actor in this game so I have a bias opinion- BUT- As a regular fan of indie horror I have to say this puzzle centric horror story was solid. It maintained intrigue and even lended some ideas to wanting to play through a second time as there were more things to solve even after the first playthrough. I’m proud of the team and my fellow voice actors. That aside, combat could be tough at times- mostly as this game was built around the puzzles and NOT to be combat focused. Conserve ammo for sure and pay attention to timing, overall though I did very much love the environment and Myuu was PHENOMENAL with his music and allowing for further atmospheric build up. Overall an enjoyable game, and one I’m grateful to be a part of.

After so many years waiting for someone to make my dream game of playing an old overweight man running around a Japanese train station, I was about to give up hope when this game came out of nowhere. And its actually much much more then that. I thought this would be a fun throwback to PS1 era survival horror games, with its obvious nods to legacy resident evil and silent hill. What I didn't expect was how good this game turned out to be. I came for budget silent hill and instead got a cold stone new classic of survivor horror. The screens and previews of this game do not give it justice. What the small team behind this have achieved is nothing short of miraculous. For all its old school mechanics (and thank god for that), the visuals, pacing and atmosphere are top notch. Playing this reminds me a lot of the Stasis games, and that's a huge compliment. Your hand will not be held but if you pay attention, everything will make sense. Most of all, you will have one hell of a time.
